Default KM647 is here! Build pics

I hardly slept at all last night in the anticipation! Christmas morning all over

I used Intercity Lines for the shipping. They were very good. The driver, Maurice, pulled up at the time he said. Poor guy had to unload two cars off the top to get to the cobra (it was an Austin Mini Wagon, and a 944 turbo).

Then KM647 came out, man these cars are so beautiful, even more in real life too! We had to push it all the way to my garage, which was hard with the Billboard tires.

Car is perfect, expect for a few minor things (for example, asked for a wood steering wheel, got the leather one, not a problem, already talked to Tom about it).

Anyways, enjoy the pics, and I'll go back to the garage and make engine noises

My dog, Zazie, watching the whole thing, she was very entretained!

Wow!!! That is absolutely beautiful!!!

I'm very happy for you and that means I am one step closer to getting mine!

And you finally got your number 647!

Is that the brushed finish?

Really happy for you...every guy here knows that feeling, whether it's coming off a van or you're handed the keys.

Enjoy.

I got tired of using correct looking horns that did not work.
So we went with Hellas.
Problem solved.

I'm having flash backs of KMP326. You may find that you like the leather wheel better if you have big hands as the wood one is quite skinny.

Congrats on the delivery, Kirkham is the best Cobra available.

Great looking car! I bet you are still buzzing!

Question:
Seems like the car sits pretty squat for not having an engine installed. I know my car was a few inches taller before I installed mine. Why does the Kirkham not sit so tall w/o engine?

Thank you so much everybody! I was telling my wife that now I actually don't mind the wait to get one (although it is not nearly as long as mreid's wait), it makes it that much sweeter when it comes in!

Resto: Messaged you

*13*: I'm going to look at the suspension set up today but it as to do with the spring rate they put in there (maybe Tom can answer too). I believe the suspension is on the harder side, so the spring do not give as much as other set ups. I was crawling under the car last night and man that suspension set up is a work of art.

xlr8or: I thought about the thickness of the steering wheels, and you make a good point. One problem is that the car is going to have dark brown leather and carpet, so it might "clash" with the rest of the car. Maybe the upholsterer can recover it or something.

Here are a few more pics Can't get enough!

I see you have more toys tucked away in that garage. What is under the lift to the right?
Is wifey going over the build sheet and receipt in the one picture? Hopefully not!

Very cool car, congrats. Now repeat after me... "I shall not stack junk on the garage wall in the vicinity of the Cobra."

Resto, on the right is my daily driver, a Saab 9-2X. It is a bit modified (not in a ricer way tho).

Elmariachi, yeah I have to work on that... I want to build a shed behind the garage for all the junk. My race bike and Shifter kart are pretty secure tho.

Congrats, Avmaviator!
Nothing like seeing it in your garage.

I remember going inside my house through the back door and the garage door was open. I walked in and just happened to see the Kirkham. THAT'S when it hit me.

Feels pretty good, huh?

Keep us posted on your build!
