Default Foam Trim Adhesive

Does anyone know what kind of adhesive is used on the foam trim around the aluminum interior panels?

Best product is the Weldwood brand of contact adhesives. Only problem is you can't buy anymore in So Cal. I had to drive to Vegas to get a gallon. The Gel Style works well since it's thicker than original. Check Home Depot or an upholstery supply joint. Can you share more specifics on your project?

I will be using the Weldwood for the carpet, but this is for the foam trim that goes on top of the rear bulkead and the panels that are directly in front of the rear tires. The original adhesive was black and I'm thinking it might have been some 3M automotive weatherstripping adhesive.

The 3M and Permatex weatherstrip adhesive is just contact cement.

Problem is after it's been sitting on the shelf a while the solids drop. In a can you can re-mix it, in a tube you can't.

BTW I do recommend the 3M weatherstrip solvent, it's some mix of Acetone, Naphtha and some other stuff and works very well.

Baseboard adhesive also works well (similar to the gel contact cement).

Can someone tell me where you can buy the U channel foam that fits on the edges of the panels?

Per Kirkham, 3M 08008 Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive is what is to be used. Kirkham makes the edge trim and you can purchase it from them.
