I would be more concerned that the transport company was supplied "the wrong car"?

They were not, which was one of the first things that caused me to dig deeper, then upon hearing the real story (car was initially wrecked in 2008 when the seller sent the pictures of the damage to the Kirkhams), I walked away from the car. Lie about something like that, what else did the seller lie about....Again, the buyer did not do his homework on this car.....Hope he is in the fabrication and metal shaping business if he plans to be on the right side of the equation when all is said and done.

Just a few months ago, a CC member named Ron in CA sold his Kirkham 427 with a 427 in it for $70,000 if I'm remembering correctly. This car makes that look like even more of a steal than it was.

Maybe after watching Kirkham University on YouTube, the buyer decided he needed a project. After all, the video makes it looks so easy!

Bill,
So did you know what happened to the car during the listing? If so why not post all the info?

It's not my place to give out information second hand. Those that want to know the whole story call the manufacturer just like I did.

Interesting the ebay car appears to be relisted?

I believe it was an honest mistake and canceled the sale with him. So good luck on a second chance to own this great car."

Yea, I noticed the Kirkham on Ebay again also. I understand that Kirkham wants $13,000 to fix the cobra also. Like Bill, I thought that the orig selling price of $65,000 was way too high. Who would want to have a new Kirkham with 60 miles on it, have approx $70,000 + in it and have a wreck history on it? If you look hard and long enough, you should be able to find a real nice one for that amount without any wreck history. Just my opinion though.

Well at 65K for the car plus 13K for repairs, that is 78K. If you compare that to the car in the CC classified ads for 77K. Is that really so bad? The car in the classified ads has a 428, while the ebay car has a shelby 427 aluminum block with webers. I think the ebay car probably has a much more expensive motor. Would anyone care to throw out estimates on the cost of the 2 motors?

You should also factor in shipping costs to Utah and back, especially if you are
far away from there. More $$$.

Guys,
I believe that Sandwich at Kirkham could repair the damage for the suggested amount and the wreck history would be just that. Car good as new.
The engine and Webbers are just icing on the cake.

Kirkham just sold again. Sold for $67,100 this time. I had a friend inspect car. He builds 1 off alum bodied custom cars in Az. Vehicle had some slight to moderate cowl/firewall damage where the fender is buckled under the windshield. The right lower control arm appears to be bent also. Posssible other susp and steering items damaged also. The left fender was damaged also in front of the header/exhaust pipe. The projected repair cost was $15,000. It appears this Kirkham sold for all the money as the buyer is going to have approx $83,000 in it once completed.

I almost bid on this car based on the phone conversations I had with the seller and pictures he sent to me. Something about the auction didn't sound right to me so I spoke with Tom Kirkham and he directed me to this thread here. The pictures posted by Tom show much more damage than the seller's latest pictures on eBay and emailed to me. He didn't mention of the cowl damage or suspension, only bad wheel and right fender and lower left fender. I won't be surprised if see the car on the market again.
Thank you Tom!

There is just a whole lot more to this story and the gentleman selling the cobra that I can't get into. Major legal issues and honesty about the actual accident. Too many lies and misrepresentations on the sale. Spoke to the seller about 10 hours before the sale ended. He advised me he has an offer from a gentleman in Calif for $70,000 that inspected the car also but that he would like to see me own the cobra if I match the price. I advised I was not interested at that price. The high bid at the time was approx $51,000. Best of luck to the new owner of the cobra. I know off the engine builder also and that is 1 real nice motor.
