Default low fuel pressure???

Well my FP dropped to 2.5PSI. I have the Mallory FPR with return hose and cannot get it any higher. Has anyone had this problem. I wondering what type of fuel filter I have under the Kirkham and has anyone had to change theirs yet? I only have 2000 miles!

I had this problem with the same set-up and regulator. Turned out to be too small micron filter between the tank and pump. This made the pump heat up and start vapor locking. It could wear the pump out before long. I'd check the filter first, plugging or too small.

Any form of restriction prior to the regulator will cause this.

Pickup screen, pump pre-filter, failing pump, pump regulator valve jamming off it's seat, main fuel filter etc.

Only 2000 miles on fuel system?

Take off the hose to the carb and test fuel volume.

What pump are you running?

Is the car running fine? Fuel pressure gauge?? Especially if the car has ran and is hot, the liquid filled gauge reading will be way low.
