KMP199 on eBay - sold by current owner
I just got a call from a distinguished gentleman known to frequent these boards. He asked me about "our car on eBay". I had no clue.
I have since done some detective work.
It's KMP 199, and it's being sold by the purchaser. We've already been paid in full for it, and have no control over what the owner does with it.
Yes, the car is currently in Provo, as the ad says.
The auction is eBay #1874034362
The only reason I'm posting anything about this is because I don't want anybody confused as to who exactly is selling the car. I can't say who the purchaser was for reasons of privacy, but I can say that it's not KMS. It's also not anybody named Kirkham.
I have nothing at all against the car or owner, think they're both great, in fact, but I wanted to clear up any misunderstanding that may occur.
Thanks,
steve

WOW,,,,it's a Bare naked lady series car!
1. What are your estimates on the reserve price?
2. Would this car "hold" it's value over time?
In other words: Is this something that could be considered an "investment" or close t o it, IF the price were right?
I'm seriously interested.

Sorry for the delay.
1. I wouldn't hazard a guess.
2. In my own humble opinion: I have no idea. Due to my last name, I can't even hazard guesses as to what the market value on cars will be in the future.
If you're interested, I recommend e-mailing the seller.
Thanks,
Steve Kirkham

Hello All,
KMP 199 looks similar but, does not seem to have the noteworthy glitz of the car raffled in NY. That car KMP911 sold for $88,100 and was a bargain. Some recent E-bay auctions for a McClusky aluminum coupe and CSX 3173 did not make the mininums.
I looks like this car did not make the minimum. I too would love to have an aluminum Kirkham car in my garage and in the fullness of time the plan is to make that happen. In the mean time two kids in College and Mortgage payments are keeping me in my current cars.
So far the closest that I have come to a Kirkham is that our guest room could have a plaque that reads "David Kirkham slept Here"...does that get me some sort of discount .

I am convinced that if the builder had used proper chrome plated slotted screws for the dash panel instead of Phillips, and the proper Aerotight metal locking nuts on the quick jacks this car would have easily met the reserve.
I'm SURE of it!!!!

BTW: I fed David cupcakes!!!!!
