Yeah...It's hard to believe it didn't sell. I was even getting scared at the end that I would end up giving it away to a last second bidder for $71,000. I guess the market is super soft right now. Anyway, the car will continue to be for sale. I don't plan to use it as to retain its "new" status. Any serious offers will be considered. Thanks.

I've seen KMP 199 at Kirkham Motorsports. This car is awesome! I think it is worth well over $10K more than the E-Bay starting bid of $71K. rks911, sorry you have to sell your car.

I'm new to this site, and to Cobra ownership, but I have several friends with various kits and the general concenous is that a Kirkham is the closest thing to an original as you can get. Obviously because its aluminum. Ive seen several promoted at car shows and they look real impressive in build quality. If you dont mind easy-dents, I'm sure it would be a solid investment, but only a few can afford.

Ernie,

What happened to your professional estimate that the car would go over 80k! I do not think the soft economy is to blame....

Oh I never suggested what it might go for. But replacement value is certainly in the 80K range (if not higher). I AM surprised it did not sell at 71, very surprised in fact!

Not the first Cobra I've seen lately on e-bay with ZERO bids and attractive prices.

Spring better get here soon, I have a vested interest in a Cobra that will be offered for sale very soon (it's still a secret I think). But I can wait to sell, those that can't are in trouble!

Ernie, me too, me too, US$71' plus shipping plus tax plus ..... plus .... too expensive for me. Let's not talk about the troubles I would have with the Swiss authorities (polished aluminum bodies are not allowed in Switzerland - to my best knowlegde you have to paint them !)

But again, assuming that nothing is wrong with this exceptional car (by looking at the pictures) it seems strange to me.

Hard times, yes, economic outlook not yet very optimistic, yes, .... but there are still enough people around who could afford this beauty !?

I think it IS the economy a nice ERA would also probably go begging.

Shelby's are a different story not because they're better but because people view them as investments. I have a cousin with a a few Ferraris who bought an original "cause the old man ain't gonna live forever". From what I can gather he's not a cobra freak -just keeps it covered in a garage. Even in rough times people will buy them.

No one knows what a Kirkham will be worth 20 years from now what do you think this is worth now http://perso.club-internet.fr/phcalv...328/328gb.html

Time will tell how the Shelby's are viewed but it's safe to say the rest of us will have enjoyed the hell out of our cars and not care.

People are looking to preserve income right now things that don't appreciate are going.
