No reserve and it is only $71,000 with a side oiler. It is a great buy.

9 days to go, I suspect the price will be well in the 80's when the smoke has cleared. If not, what does it all mean?????

Possibly the question is that if it doesn't get into the 80K range. what does that mean about the market??

I don't think he's too interested in moving it. I e-mailed him 4 days ago and still no response. Very interested too. Oh, well. I'm patiently waiting for just the right one.

So how did it get the ONE bid? Maybe that was the owner himself?

# of bids 0 _( Bid history )
Location Fort Collins, Colorado
Country/Region
no bids he started the auction started @ 71k
While that's a great deal there's not alot of "bid up room"
If you use eSnipe(.com) you might bag the deal of the year!

It's a service that allows you to bid at the very last sec. So you stay "cloaked" until the very end of the auction. Checkout eSnipe.com

I recently bid on a Super Seven. Only an hour or so to go on the auction, no bidding for a while. I'm thinking, "I got this one is the bag"! I went out to breakfast, came home and had been OUT BID at the last minute!
Thats when I found out about Esnipe, the hard way!

I by no means am trying to start an argument here about resale values, etc. of Kirkhams vs. Cobras, but one would think with Kirkhams being nearly identical to original Shelbys, the price would be a little higher. Just the current market, or is there another reason I'm not aware of about this example?

CSX cars have always brought a premium over any other Cobra, period. Now there might be all kinds of good or bad reasons for this but one over riding factor is clear:
It's got the coveted CSX number and carries the LEGAL name of Cobra. That pretty much sums it up. Wether or not the "value" is justified (and I think it is) could go on for pages (about 44 pages so far..........)

Yeah, well, the 'embarassment' thread is quite a stunner. However, I think everything was said in the first 10 posts.
Oh, well.

Gas_in_my_veins,
Market is soft for all Cobra flavors. SAI, Kirkhams, ERA, and SPF are all a bit tough to sell but price does NOT seem to be the biggest factor.

Man the competition for Cobra sales is fierce right now!!!
I was just checking Cobra Country. LOT's of Cobras in the 35K range, take your pick!
LOT's of SPF's in the 40's, take your pick!
Want cheap? A smattering in the 20's!
HARD to find the "one" you want. The "one" that has ALL the stuff you want, at ANY price!

First I think there maybe a reserve (not sure and I'm too damn lazy to check) With no bids the "reserve not met" line may not show till there is a bid.
Second while this is a real good price it's still 71K. I know with the war going on and the loopy economy people are not buying toys at this moment. If I had that money under my mattress I'd probably leave it there for 6 months or so.
I'm more worried about the economy then I am Kirkham.

PK,
So what your saying is:
SAVE $10K on the purchase price of that Kirkham on e-bay if you buy now.
Oh wait,,,,,,,you didn't SAVE anything, you SPENT $71K, lol.
