As you say, "The front is a no-brainer." However, the back is a bit of a challenge. It's a bit tight under the tank, particuarly for operating the jack handle. This also applies to going under the side pipe in front of the rear wheel. To solve this problem I keep four 8-inch long sections of 2X8's to drive up on, making enough room to roll the floor jack under the side pipes. Then, with a soft pad, I catch the crossmember supporting the pinion nose and up we go.
Note: I get the front up and supported with jack stands before raising the rear.
