Impromptu Kirkham Mini Summit
Gents,
A couple of customers came by this weekend and we decided to go on a little drive. So we went for a drive on the incredible Mt. Nebo Loop. It is 35 miles of a fast, winding road through the hinterlands of Utah. There are lots of 20 MPH warning signs for the turns. S curves like you have never seen them except in the commercials. The road is like Disneyland for Cobras (and replicas too).
The road must have a 1000 turns in it (not sure really how many turns, but a WHOLE bunch), and it is relatively untravelled--expecially early in the morning. You are more likely to run into a cow (WATCH OUT) than you are another car. The view is incredible--as are the 1000 foot drop offs WITH NO GUARD RAILS TO BLOCK YOUR VIEW. (I can still see Jamo screaming beside me right now. This road makes Squaw Peak look like a warm up lap.)
We stopped at the Peak of the pass for a photo shoot. (I thought you guys might like a picture.) I have NEVER seen the mountains GREEN in August with snow still in the mountains. We got "thumbs-up" from everyone we passed, (mostly bicycles).
It was a great day and a GREAT run. Maybe we should plan another one.

Guys:
It is really worth the trip out there, especially at this time of the year. Thanks to ALL of the folks at KMS for the kind attention and hospitality. I wish that I could have stayed through the weekend and gone on the long drive.

Sounds like fun.
Next time, Davey...I'm driving. We'll see who cries for their mommy.

Lew,
Thanks for the kind words. You will be back on the road soon. Too bad you missed out on the run.
Jamo,
As loud as you were squealing, I know better than to EVER let you get pay-backs.

As one of the participants, I'll add that a great time was had by all. A favorite memory will be at least three different groups of boy scouts/youth groups hearing the cars coming and running to the side of the road to watch us pass. Lots of hollering and cheering and thumbs up. These cars not only bring a smile to face of the owners, but to the onlookers as well.
Three big block cars made a fantastic noise in those moutains. Just imagine twenty of us...
Thanks David, for a great time.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "summit" .
I imagine you guys didn't stop over at Turks place for pizza and some male bonding?

Now that sounds like fun. Maybe you guys should have a demo unit ready for us to use when we drop by and cannot bring our own cars from so far away.Surley there is a write off in there somewhere. chuck

Chuck,
If you fly out, then I will find a car for you!
David
ps. We have already reserved the Miller Motorsports race track for 2 events next year. Both events will be for 2 days. One in May and one in August. It will be a RIOT. We will probably have some touring as well in the Utah mountains to go along with the fun.

David:
Have you got exact dates? It's never too soon to start protecting the time.
BTW, the Keith Craft 331 is Da Bomb (but you already knew that!). The whole thing is making me happy.
Cheers,
David I.

I just noticed the viewpoint of the picture...you were laying down again, weren't you?
Last time, I had to assplain to a motorist that you weren't road kill.

Jamo,
Roadkill
We will post the dates as soon as they are firmed up. They should be firmed up on the 7th of September.
Now the question of the day. Who should we invite? There is a lot of discussion about that--pros and cons.
If we open it up to all of the Mustang guys, then we may get crowded off of the track. (I have seen that happen at Willow.) Of course, those Mustang guys are potential new friends (and customers
If we make it exclusive to Kirkhams then we all get to get together and have a great time in a small way. That builds the comaradarie among the customers and they can feel more like a tight knit club. However, if we do that, then others will feel left out.
Thoughts?

All Miss USA contestants should get invitations as well as current KMP owners.
