Thumbs up Kmp 357 Is Alive!!

For those of you who haven't already seen the thread on my ignition problems, KMP357 is now motivating under its own power...its glorious, hot, smelly, and EXCESSIVE POWER!!.

I've alrerady thanked some of the people who've helped directly, and would like to now thank those who gave me tips along the way, sold me their excess parts, and talked me through the SB100 process. It's been a long time comming, but I've put about 120 miles on her, and am doing my best to keep from grinnin' like an idiot.

I've given a number of friends and relatives rides already, and set down some pretty good patches of rubber in the neighborhood...not mine, theirs.

I haven't really become comfortable at speed yet...I've got to get the alignment done soon...things are a bit hairy as the car wonders around as if it had its own will. But under 50 or so, I can stick my foot in it long enough to get a quick thrill.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but suddenly 500+ bhp doesn't seem excessive. Then again, I haven't wound it out in either 3rd or 4th.

Well, got to get to bed now, as I'm getting up early so that I have time to take the long way to work.

Congrats!

Wait til everything is set and broke-in and you get cockier.
You will see how 500HP will be plenty.
Be Careful out there.

Thanks for the reminder. As much fun as I'm having 0 to 60, I am ever mindful that things can go wrong awfully quickly, and I really don't want to be one of those who total their car in the first year of ownership.

Plus, I have to prove my wife wrong, and avoid getting a ticket within the first week of ownership.

My wife was in the Cobra with me when I got my first ticket. It wasn't in the first week though.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Pat, I'd love to stop by and see your CAV GT40. My inlaws live in Cameron Park, and I believe you must be close by, correct?

I'll be tied up for the next two weeks, but I seriously would like to stop by.

When I think I may be able to come by, I'll PM you. Maybe I can talk Maurice19 into dragging KMP318 along...he's got one monster under the hood.
