I have a Richmond/Doug Nash Road Course 4 + 1 transmission in my car and wondered what I would have to do to exchange the standard Ford reversed Mustang shift lever with the hand shredder on it for something that works better.
Your installation is with a Tremec and your billet solution looks great but I'd like something that fits the Richmond. Do you know of anything?
Thanks.

Paul,
I don't know of anything, but send me a picture and we may be able to make something that would work quite well.

Billet Shifter Upgrade
David,
I'm loving your shifter solution. I've got an SPF with a blown 4.6 Modular engine. It's not an FE but it is a Cobra engine, sort of a modern day decendant.
When I began the build I had the same opinion about the up and down shifting pattern vs the more natural front and back routine. I used a Keisler midshift kit on my TKO600 with an old Hurst supershifter lever to get the more natural shift position. The Keisler shifter has some attributes I don't care for.
Can I disassemble the aluminum circular shifter housing from the original Tremec rear mount reattach it to the new shifter plate that is over the center mount positin and use your billet shifter or does the center mount have different geometry than that used on the rear location shift lever?
Thanks for your inspiration. You guys really define the highwater mark for our toys.
Ed
<edit> When I was looking at Sandwich's decorated wedding version of the Cobra I saw the shifter in his car. That is the right look and I suspect also feel. <end edit>

Ed,
I am not sure. We have never used the middle shifter spot as it puts the shifter too close to the dash.
If you send me the parts, however, I will see what I can come up with.

Hi David- I'm running a Jag rear end and wanted to know if you have to install camber shims on the outboard flanges. Also, what is the current status on the bolt-in stainless headers and sidepipes?
We're dying for more build progress......
Thanks as always.

Jason,
We do not use the camber shims as we use a plunging upper control arm. We do, however, have to use a spacer to allow the male portion of the 1/2 shaft to mate to the male portion of the axle on the Jaguar units.
Stainless headers are now in production. I have a LOT of customers who want them...so many, in fact, I had to hire a new guy just to work exclusively
on headers.
As for progress on the manual...
I know you are all ready to form a lynch mob and rightly so.
But, maybe, just maybe you will forgive me. I have been a "little" tied up lately with another project. It took 10 years to finally get this project off the ground and everything just finally fell into place. We will be announcing very shortly.

Are these (ss headers) going to replace the headers that come on production cars?

We will still be offering both stainless and mild steel versions of the side pipes.

David:
I think that you should hire the NOPI Tuner chicks for your manual photos. Nothing against Sandwich, he seems like a good enough guy, but those girls really seem to know a lot about cars.

Lew...you're forgetting David's "sense" of humor.
We will likely be looking at Steve in a thong in the near future.

You mean we'd be getting a meal rather than a "Sandwich"?

Excuse me guys, but can someone direct me to the Kirkham link where they have the list of parts and parts numbers for the bulk of the things needed (i.e. bellhousing, starter etc.).
I have seen it before, but once again having difficulty finding it a second time.
Thanks in advance

Assembly Manual Pic #197
Guys from Kirkham,
I would like to know when putting the drive shaft into the transmission does the rubber bushing on the end of the transmission stay put. Is that standard procedure for a TKO 600 by greasing the input shaft and the rubber bushing. Wont the rubber bushing wear if the grease diminishes after a period of time?
A little info on this would let me sleep better at night.
Thanks,
Ron

A little grease is all thats needed on install. It will get some lube internally.

Ron,
The grease is on the drive shaft for initial start up--before the tranny fluid can get back there to lube the seal. After you drive for a bit, the tranny fluid will do all the lubrication the seal needs.
(I assume you are referring to the output seal when you say "rubber bushing.")

output seal
David,
Thanks for the info as I have ordered a driveshaft the other day and that was a question that I had. I guess you answered my question. Also,
guys thank you for such a prompt response.
Regards,
Ron
