Default upper suspension mounting holes 1.5"

Hi David!

Please explain why the upper suspension (front and rear) have big holes with 1,5" diameter to accept cups to sink the 5/8" bolts. Is that for radiator clearance (front) and main tub clearance (rear)?

Meaning it's a package problem, design error?

Dom

That is how the original suspension was made. In our latest chassis we have a 5/8" hole.

:-)
My buddy Nick says it a safety feature, to collapse in a crash.

I came in late for the build manual and I face a similar challenge as when I tried to follow Morris C's build up in gasholes.

It's tricky to find a specific step or a picture. In my case:
Where is the transmission crossmember pic which shows mounts for Toploader and Tremec?

A table of content would be good, but impractical because you build and documents as you go along, not according to a pre-defined table of content.

Anybody has any ideas how to find a specific topic a few pages back?
Maybe do create a table of content on the first page which "lives" as you go along?

I am not sure what bolt on the bell housing you are referring to.

What size master cylinder are you using? Are you using our set up?

I am using your complete set up. The pivot point bolt- heim joint. Looks like in the pictures I have more showing- at about 3/8 in. seems like you guys only have a thread or so. I originally set it up so the fork was perpendicular to the centerline of trans.

We screw the rod end out all the way so only a 1/2 a thread shows. That puts the pivot point in the right place.
