As much as you've learned so many new ways of making stuff with this project, and as much as the owner of this car is going to be on the receiving end of an incredible machine, I've got to think you guys are about worn out on this one and are ready to tackle the next challenge (after a looooooong vacation  ).
This has been one of the best threads to ever be posted on a public gearhead forum. Thank you for taking the time to educate us on not only what it takes to build an incredible one-off car, but also giving us an education on the nuances and sophistication of what a "simple" aluminum bodied Cobra has under all that gorgeous tin work. It made me really appreciate a Kirkham for more than just a darn near spot-on replica of the originals.

Thank you very much for your most kind words!
Unfortunately, I am most likely going to go quiet on this thread (and others) for the next two weeks as we get ready to deliver this baby. All hands were called on deck today and all salesmen were banned from the gate by order of the head janitor... ME! 
Joe is the gate-keeper. I told him if ANYONE gets through and I buy something HE has to pay for it!
I will try to post if I can, but I can't promise anything. I can note this, however. I have driven the car quite a few miles and I am most pleased with how it drives. There were a lot of nervous faces around here on those first test drives! 
So far, so good. I will certainly post when we are done and it is delivered with a far more in-depth discussion of what we did and why.

I know this is a little late but 4-axis machining is no big deal you just have to push a few extra buttons on the machine. At least that is what my customers tell me when they want a part modified. Are you enjoying the brake setup shown to you by a really smart engineer.

Still impressed. You guys are awesome detailing the whole build for us. Since you obviously are bored and not doing anything, you could build one for me and I will work on trying to get you customers.

I got to agree with Pat. There is an American Standard factory here that vacum molds bathtubs and shower stall out of acrilic. You could built the molds and they could mold the body using clear sheet, what's another million$

David,
I was hoping to see Kirkham Motorsports at SAAC-33. Are you going? Is the rush to finish this car so that you'll be able to make it there? Perhaps you need to finish the car to deliver it to your customer at SAAC-33?
I thought that your billet FE engine block was supposed to be part of this car. Is that going to be finished by your deadline as well?

The billet block had to take a back burner. As you can imagine, the machining on the frame and suspension ate up all our time. We did several revisions and we thought it was more important to have the chassis and suspension exactly how we wanted them. The engine can always be changed relatively easily at a later date.
As for SAAC, we are focused on this car. We will deliver it in the next couple of weeks and it will not be around for any shows. Sometimes, that is how it goes.

Coming up for air...
We have gone quiet as we have come to the end of the build and the last few details are always the most time consuming to complete. We have done some really cool things (like make our own steering rack as we couldn't get what we wanted) and many other things which has stretched the time out longer than anticipated. But, that is how things go. I told the customer I would give him our best work and that is what we intend to do.
We hope to deliver the car in 1-2 weeks and then I will go to sleep. When I wake up, I will post what happened with lots of pics. I think you may find it very interesting as we did things no one here would expect.
Back to work on the car!
