Here we are lowering the body into place.

Once we were happy with the fit, we took the front cockpit tube, bent it to shape and then cleco'd it to the body. (That's the cleco you see sticking out here.) Then, we took a little tube and fit it to the cowl tube. We then lowered the body down onto the little tube, measured everything, and then...

Then you tack weld everything into place. Tack weld means very small weld--so it isn't so hard to break when you have to reposition the tubes because you measured wrong...

Here is a close up of the center cockpit support tube. Notice how it is already perfectly notched courtesy of our mill.
