Default Dropped footbox / ground clearance

Hi folks,

one more question in regard to the dropped footbox:

As the footbox is lowered I am wondering if it is by then lower than the frame rails. (ground clearance concerns justified?)

Anyone got an idea or even better picture if I may ask? Any help will be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance
Carsten

Hi Carsten.
Sorry, can't help with the foot box question. But it's good to see you are still around.
Thinking of moving up the Cobra replicas ladder?

Dave Brookes (DB Replicas). My second Kirkham should be arriving in about 4 weeks.

Carsten,

The dropped foot box is not lower than the frame rails. We drop the floor in the foot box to the same level as the bottom of the existing pedal box. It is not really that simple but that is the effect. It uses a custom pedal assembly specifically built for the dropped foot box option.

Are you in Germany? I have a very good friend that lives in Hamburg. That is a very beautiful city.

The box on the left is the dropped foot box. It is under construction so it is a little messy but I figured this might help you understand. The pads (not shown in photo) on the dropped box pedals are adjustable up down and side to side to help fit the customer. We bolt this box in place of the other and trim the floor of the foot box to the edges of this piece.

Hi Joe,

sorry it took a while until I could reply - Just let me say: I love computers

In any case let me thank you very much for the pictures you sent - they are of tremendous help in order to have a better understanding how the lowered footbox works. So in any case this is on my option list.........

In case it is not asking too much (and in case available without any extra efforts for you) a picture of the complete installed system / footbox would be great.

Location Hamburg- Germany? Yap - correct - As you appear to be familiar with the place: Whenever you are over here and your time allows you to: Just let me know as me and some fluid stuff would like to say THANKS to you in person........
