Default Kirkham Registry, It is Time!

Kirkhams,

With all the posted questions concerning how many, how heavy, what A-arm, etc.;

What about publishing a yearly Kirkham registry? You already have out more 427's than Shelby made. It would not need to be real fancy-sort of a newsletter as well. I am sure it would pay for itself- Could even find some aspiring journalist at BYU to do it. It would be very cool and add considerable prestige to the Markey, KIRKHAM!

We can also keep track of those Shelby's trying to mask as Kirkhams! Using our precious bodies for parts! Bastaards!

The boys who guide the Kirkham juggernaut are really, really busy. Furthermore, mere publishing would be a poor use of their amazing creative energy. Lucky for all of us, Kirkham cars will be included in the forthcoming SAAC Registry. Have you sent your data in?

Sent stuff in months ago, even pre-paid for the next book. I hope it prints. But I really do think something more intament would be appropriate. They should be able to get someone to do it easily, I would think. I know I could if they couldn't.

There is a Kirkham Registrar in place at SAAC.

The data that was submitted by owners before the deadline will appear in the KMP section of the 2008 SAAC Registry (Vol.1). The layout has closed and the galleys are at the printer. The book will be printed and distributed in Q4, under the current printer's schedule.

Again, the rational for SAAC documenting the KMP cars is the same as them listing the AK Cobras...to account for all aluminum and to document CSX crossovers.

I had started an online registry...really an owner's database... a few years ago, but there were too few submissions compared to the number of cars out there.

The new round of data collected for the SAAC Registry will be folded in to it.
I plan to have the public data online and searchable by year end.

I got mine too late to make it into the SAAC registry - maybe next time.
Hey, at least I finally got one - better late than never!

I know all that, been in this hobby since my Butler back in 88.
My point, Kirkham is not just another "Kit Car". There is almost 600 out there and I would bet that they have one of the highest percentages "on the road". The bros & Mom kept true to the faith of the car. I see it evolving more into sort of a Chapman (Lotus Fame) thing then a FFR thing. If I dare say a Shelby "Thing". Parts of cars come from overseas to see final assembly in the US as more & more cars are comming out as rollers the standardization is there the quality is there regardless. I think it is time to leave the kit car thing in the dust- Mine is a Kirkham that I personally finished to my tastes. Not a kit car.
Isn't a Shelby simply an AC Bristol finished to Carrol's taste? You will see no poser Cobra Badges on my car. It will say Kirkham (well when they send the badges to me) Lets start the revolution now!
SAAC (which I too sent donation to- yes I am backing them not Shelby) only has us Kirkham people around to monitor the cars and to sell a couple of extra books. They have no loyalty to we band of brothers. Lets continue our support but lets also step up as well.

Boss you can always keep spreading the word around about the http://www.kmsac.com/ site so it's registry keeps updated.

I think when Ron merges the information from the SAAC book to that it will provide what you are asking for.

I am asking for a "Revolution"! Don't you see?
Will the SAAC Book give that to me? Nope!

4pipes- Take that Cobra badge off- It is not a Cobra. You and your car are better than that. Beside you might get your azz sued off!

Damn Basques start more sh!t....Viva la Revolucion!!!!!!!

Badgeless since 2003...don't need no stinkin badges (Sammich helped me steal David's "K" personal prototype arruminum gearshift knob...only label on the entire car). Said all the same sh!t years ago.

My own opinion: Let's all get back to Ron's online database/site, and then we can move forward from there. It was a good start and easier for gathering the info than mailing in.

We need that bloody fool Hawkridge to give us a list...maybe put a link at the CobraClub site...hell, lets get the BBC involved.

Then we'll get Legate's ass out to Provo so he can see what mountains look like. Have him write a few proper English sentences to give us some class.

Rock on Big Boss...tear the walls down!

"Viva la Kirkham! Viva la arruminum!"

Am I wrong to believe that we Kirkham owners are the center of the Universe? The standard of what is real and wholesome.
Am I wrong to believe that if your body is not of Arruminum you are simply an "Emperor with new clothes"?
Am I wrong to believe that we Kirkham owners really are better than the rest of "Them"? Over and over we hear, "it's not a Kirkham but"

To be not a poser, To be not a Cobra,To be naked and proud-Is to be a Kirkham. Simple, Free, Real!
