Not sure why RODKNOCK thinks 233 is not new? It has no miles on it,while yes it has been around a couple years it is still new. Also the price even today with the limited options on the Kirkham sheet you posted is still well over 72K. 69K is the asking price if someone would like to save a few bucks over a new one with no wait. They are welcome to look at mine. It was mostly finished from Kirkham and final ass. done by one of finest in the BIZ. Blue Moon Motor Sports. They restore original Cobras. Not sure why this matters anyway.
The Car is perfect and for sale for any one who would like to view it. Thanks for not knocking it until you have viewed it and know what comes with it.

You perceive it as "knocking." I call it "comparison shopping."

I think they transitioned to the billet suspension somewhere about #180.
As to what is on #223, the seller can answer that. I don't think the frames
have changed but David Kirkham knows the answer to that for sure.

That sure is one beautiful-looking car, but it sure would be a shame if it finds its way outside of Canada as it's one of only a handful up here, and as it couldn't be re-imported for many many years. Wish I had that kinda dough so I could buy it myself. Sigh.

If there are some available, then it would be nice (for me anyway) to have a listing of them (and options) a la the Superformance website.

I am ready to buy and cannot find what I am looking for. A black 427 street version. The more original in appearance, the better. Cash, now for the right car and right price

There are very few street Kirkhams out there, and then add black paint to the equation, you might find yourself looking for a very long time.
The faster approach would be to order a street 427 from Kirkham and build and paint it yourself. I think the order time for a street car is about 4-5 months.

This is my first post and I'm somewhat a novice when it comes to these cars. From what I learned so far, I think a Kirkham would be the car I'd want. There is a polished Kirkham with SS frame and a Pond 482 listed on Cobra Country for $125,000. # 504. I'm wondering if this car would have the latest style suspension? I initally thought the price was fair but after reading some of these posts, it now seems too high. Any input from all the "experienced" Cobra owners out there?
thanks,
Richard

Richard, yes $125K sounds WAY too expensive to me. The stainless steel frame does run $5,000 extra. The $125K sounds like the seller's build cost. The highest recent sale was around the $90,000-$95,000 range. I believe the recent low sale was for a Kirkham FIA 289 car at around $72,000-$73,000, but it also has an asterisk attached to it for another reason that may have kept the price low.
As for suspension, the Kirkhams have undergone many iterations of suspensions over the years, but 504 should have the billet aluminum suspension unless the owner spec'ed out the original-type suspension and brakes which could add $16,000 to the base price of a Kirkham. I have KMP539 and love it.

Why does the original style suspension and brakes cost so much more?

The Kirkhams started being equipped with the billet suspension somewhere
in the #170's. After that the original style started costing a lot more for
whatever reasons. Mine has the original style and works fine for me. It came
with it since mine is #142. I haven't driven one with the billet suspension but
have read that it is much better and have no reason to doubt it - new tech vs
old plus the the Kirkham brothers built it - more than good enough for me.
If one were a total purist and wanted the old style suspension for the $16k,
then that is his choice. I am sure I'd be more than happy with the billet and
put the $16k into the engine and other good stuff if I were building mine.
I was lucky enough to have gotten mine from someone who had had his fun
with it and chose to move on with his toy selection. He did an excellent job
with the build which I really appreciate.

Jamo,
Sorry, OK let me revise that to 180's/190's. I did a little searching although not
enough but I did find your description of your prototype you got on yours.
Somewhere I thought I had read it was about #178 or so the transition was
made, but then my brain cells aren't getting any younger.
"Turns out my car has the prototype for the first arruminum ones (additional adjustibility), but it is done in steel...came right off David K's car cuz he didn't want some lawyer suing his ass off if the first arruminum ones broke."
I see yours is #184 so what the heck, it was still back in the day.

Well, ok...I just don't want anyone to think I have a replica. Mine is an original Kirkham.
