427 Kirkham's for sale, know of any others?
Hello All,
After much consideration and having a more technically accurate Contemporary in the past, I'm pretty much set on getting a Kirkham. I have spent a lot of time trying to locate all of the currently available 427 cars currently for sale. If anyone knows of others that I've missed or have any of the missing (?) information on the cars below please post and I'll update my post to keep it current. The first car in the list, which I just found out was sold has my wishlist of items: Stroked 427 Aluminum shelby block*, SS Frame, lot's of options and blue/white paint if it's painted, otherwise I really like the brushed finish/polished stripes.
* Seems I'd like a Keith Craft built motor based on the other nice cars I've seen selecting them to build their motor.
Kind Regards,
Mike

Woo-Hoo! That is good news.
I know of a polished one with brushed stripes, titled in Utah, KC 427/482 aluminum block stroker, 5 speed, $110k is the asking price.
We can always build you a new one...

HI COBRA (Flip) just bought his Kirkham on eBay for approximately $68,000. His KMPS # was low around 140-170. My memory is failing at the moment.

Hello All,
While a new one would be great, my wish list of items* would run new @ over $140k and getting one used for < 90k (even 100k) is well worth the wait.
* 90k+ roller

Do you have a URL to #427? I saw it, but thought it was a duplicate of the one's I'd posted above. Is it really Kirkham #427?

This car was a winner and I'd be selling kids if it was still available:
http://www.clubcobra.com/classifieds...duct=759&cat=2
It has most (not all) of my wishlist of items:
Detailed billet throughout and polished stainless and chrome in engine.
Shelby aluminum 427 stroked with over 600hp. Elderbrock heads (shelby?). Low miles on motor. Dual pusher fans for original look, added puller fans good. I'm not sure of pond blocks and need to do additional research. I see that Keith Craft is using them a lot, if shelby's equal/better even if their a little more money, then it's what's I'd prefer. Would like 1150 or so carb with turkey pan, they just look right, but my Contemporary had dual carbs and it's is just fine. Transmission and rear end build to handle a really good motor, even if running the 1/4 mile on 15" mickey thompson slicks with a 10.25 E.T.
The main options are:
Body: brushed or blue with white stripes. However leaning brushed.
Stainless Steel frame, really like the idea that 10 years from now...frame and brushed body will be nice.
Aluminum extras everywhere: hood scoop, door frames, hinges, brackets, pedals, etc...
42 gallon tank (live 100 miles away from 93 or better octane)
Correct wilton wool and leather interior
fire extinguisher system (halon)
coated side pipes (prefer 4" Stainless).
Smith Guages for sure.
Want a soft top as I'd be driving to and from any Cobra events I might attend. Wipers and heater would be nice, but rain-ex and a coat will do just as well. As 99% of the time it will be in storage if such things are needed.
Original vs billet suspension. Love both the originality of the original and the look and weight savings of the new billet offerings from Kirkham.
Hidden modern fuses and MSD ignition.
Knock offs, original dark Mag wheels, would be great!
Good year billboards, but since it's an easy change compaired with the above...who cares.
Thanks for the replies,
Mike

You should be able to build one to those specs for a lot less than $140k.

Hello Lew,
But the car linked was < $90k, which leaves me with a Shelby GT500 in the garage for rainy days. Not looking to be cheap or I wouldn't be in this forum, but I don't want to be the one to lose 20 to 30k on new in this economy. I MUST be able to sell the car to the better half, that if we have another dot.bomb (I'm in ecommerce), we can sell it for 'not' much of a loss.
Kind Regards,
Mike Randolph

Hello I like BOOBS...BUTTS AND BIG BLOCKS,
Can't say I blame you about your order of things or you being slow to sell such a nice piece of Cobra . I'm just about to re-look at your ad, and will let you know if I have any questions. Thanks for the post and the nice ah...avatar. I'll also update my original post so everyone knows it's (the car) still available.
Cheers,
Mike

I see the ebay listing, but it doesn't have a Kirkham number, which would be nice to add to my original post. What is this cars number?
Thank you,

Kirkham #561
Give me a call about the car that I have for sell. It is very similiar to what you want. It does not have a stainless frame but I have had both the painted and the stainless and the stainless gets stained pretty good as well. This is a brand new car with less than 50 miles on it right now. Has a Pond block 482 FE side oiler with the edelbrock stage 2 CNC heads and single 4 bl. Makes about 615ft/lbs torque and 600HP. Cruises great at 1700 to 2000 rpms and idles on about 800 rpms. Car has the standard tank which we could change out for the normal up-grade price. Has the wool carpet, vent wings, sun visors, fire system, Kirkham oil cooler and lines, Kirkham billet pulleys and brackets, Kirkham aluminum rear end, new style suspension which is the only way to go, drivers side vent, up-grade front brakes, Penske shocks, leather dash, polished side pipes, brushed with the polished stripes and all of the normal standard stuff. We painted the side vents black to set the rest of the car of and we have painted the under side of the hood black which looks better than the unfinished aluminum. We do a very nice installation package with the Tremec TKO-600 transmission, McCloed aluminum flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, Kirkham billet clutch arm and hydraulic cylinder, MSD ignition. The air cleaner, coil, valve covers and distributor cap are all black. We polished the stainless water lines upper and lower as well as the area behind the seats. I installed the Goodyear Billboard tires and have the radials that came on the car from Kirkham which are Firestone FireHawks.
With the special deals I work out with the Kirkhams and with Us assembling the car here at my shop we can offer some great prices on these cars. I will sell this car for 97,500.00. The engine and rest of the parts with the installation normally run about 30,000.00. The car priced out from Kirkham came to about 76,000.00 and this did not include the feight to get it here, so you can see this is a great deal on this car.
We also like to drive the cars for about 50 to 100 miles to check things out on them. I will also offer a 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty on the internal lubricated parts of the engine. I also have another polished car coming if anybody is looking for one of those in the near future. Thanks, Keith Craft

Hello Keith,
Thanks for the heads up, it will be 4 more months of saving before my bank account will reach your asking price, hopefully you will sell it before then, but if not it sure is in consideration. I also like #529 which I believe is your handy work, the motor in it sounds along the lines of what I want.
Thanks again for the post, it's nice to know a new one isn't too far out of reach.
Kind Regards,
Mike Randolph

Mike, I have been looking at Kirkhams as well. I plan to go a different direction with the engine but the best deals I have heard of and/or seen were 67,000, 69,000, and 75,000. The last one was sent to France but just killer. I have come to the conclusion that unless you can buy south of 85-90 you may as well buy new and get what you want. Perhaps the economy will correct some of the pricing out of Poland and Utah just as housing is correcting.
Not too often you see Battleground, Washington mentioned. Nice place.
