Default Wheel Alignment - Orange County, CA - Kirkham

Does anybody have a recommendation on a wheel alignment shop in Orange County, Calif. that can provide a proper, competent four-wheel alignment for my Kirkham 427 SC? Hopefully a shop that has done a few Kirkham's prior to mine!!.

Best Regards,

It ain't Orange County but the best in the west is Roger Kraus Racing in Castro Valley (SF Bay area). They have done dozens of Kirkhams and people come from all over. I trailered from LA and back, well worth it. Alignment, bump steer, full weight ratios and ride height adjustment. They're listed as a link on the Kirkham website.

And the Answer is.......

Glen's Alignment in Costa Mesa.

2135 Canyon Dr

Expensive ($250-300) but he does all four wheels, sets ride height to your specs and does a thorough inspection of everything. Safety wires your spinners back on if needed. He has two or three Shelby Cobras in there at any time.

My brother lives about a mile from Glen's Alignment and also gave them a thumbs up.

The other place that he had heard about (but hasn't used) is called Clark's House of Suspension in Lake Forest.

Default Experience is the key

Someone who has done a Kirkham before will do it quickly and properly as there are some tricks. I had to go to a local Goodyear store however the manager worked with me and let me at the alignment rack with my tools to make adjustments that I did not want them to mess with as it required some wrench work.

Hats off again to the polite, correct prompt telephone support by the Kirkham organization.

Car4Jim,

Not trying to highjack your thread, but is looks as you have found one in your local. I would be hard pressed driving mine to Costa Mesa.

How about a alignment shop in the South Bay, I am in Hermosa Beach.

2 Top Shelf Kirkhams - both suspension and overall undercarriage Expertise needed,..... without hesitation, trailered the cars to Roger Kraus (as noted above) (Brandon, Rogers son is Outstanding). Advise,There is a difference, Don't mess around, you are driving a sophisticated race car on the street...(or on the track).

Seems extreme to trailer a car 500 miles for an alignment. There's three places in the San Francisco Bay Area (including Roger Kraus) that can handle a Kirkham or any other car. I'm sure there's got to be a couple of places in SoCal (i.e. Glen's Aliginment) that can handle the job.

Thanks for the heads-up Otomix, but I don't have a trailer or that kind of time to trailer. I just thought there had to be some good places down here in the South Bay that provide the same kind of work you received from up north.

If there remains doubts still about Glen's, Newport Shelby Cobras and Hillbank both send their cars there for set up. They will do any toe, camber, caster combos you want....for track or street. They also have a standard set up they recommend for street use for the Kirkhams or CSX's.

Mine goes down the street straight and even with the Goodyear Sports Specials that tend to hunt ont the freeway, I can let go of the wheel momentarilly and it goes dead straight. It didn't do that before.
