Chuck,
I thought that was your car. Also you are correct. The price I gave was for the FIA car. A roller ready for $74 or 5.

Why do FIAs cost more than 427s?
Also, eBay has been a site for professionals for the last five years. There are very few deals anymore.

I'm sure a guy who can't turn a wrench, or doesn't have the time to, could find someone to set a car up, install motor and trans, work out all bugs, and add some special touches. Going through all components including a new transmission, to make sure everything is within tolerances is not unheard of. Add to this, the cost of a serious 289 (I know of one place that get $20,000 for a 500 HP 289) I could see it adding up to $140K. It's not easy to set up a car perfectly, and it's very time consuming. Pay someone to do it for you, and it could very costly.

Who eve says ths car is set right? The seller? Also the motor in the car with a stock block is no where near $20,000. I have seen few 302's that are worth 20 even with a world block

supply demand--on the issue of why small block cars are more expensive from Kirkham

ENTDOC Ditto.....
Supply and demand, if you want a FIA hybrid car it will cost you as much if not more than a 427 car. A FIA or slab with TL will even fetch a few more Barbara Bush's as again there are fewer examples available.
Yes a 302 can run in excess of $20k however most do not! For 5-6K you can have a nice Weber powered 289/302 SB. Like anything else it depends on the budget and parts involved.
Why would CSX3020 be more valuable than CSX3156? Supply and demand and 3020 has history 3156 is a street car w/o history!
How many KMS 427's for sale? Guessing 8-12 at any given time.
How many KMS 289's for sale? Guessing less than 3 between FIA's and Slabs.
How many painted? Even less........

Guys I just gave you the price of a new roller. Click on the 427 car and the price will almost be the same for an equivalent roller. A 427 with a carb will run you 14 for a new block. The 427 SC's are more money!

i have not added up the total, but an FIa starts at 44,995 and a 427sc at 39,995. No doubt, a solid middle of the road 427so is twice the cost of a similar 302, so that 5K difference is made up quickly

A little late to the party here but my Kirkham was also there - although they
had it listed as KMP 178 while mine is actually 142. The guy is trying to make
a quick buck - nothing wrong with that but his timing sure sucks!

i luv the 289 cars. this same seller had a 289 slabside for sale some time back that reportedly sold for $75k. i think it is still listed in the classified section.
hope he gets realistic.
OT, what the story on the FIA dash and the speedo over on the other side ?
