Well, if you include your time at the DMV, CHP & BAR, then calculate that time at the CA minmum wage of $8.00/hour, then you could get very close to $150K

Good One! :)

RodKnock 10-09-2008 03:02 PM

Oh, and I forgot, you must calculate the time spent on the telephone chasing down and talking to the Golden State Overnight truck driver who was delivering my corrected SB100 certificate (2nd or 3rd Revision, can't remember anymore) to the wrong address.......again.

Nope, you can't calculate that, it's priceless.

**)

ENTDOC 10-09-2008 03:52 PM

In SC that time would translate to about 20 bucks

henryr 10-09-2008 06:21 PM

awesome. i can't believe it would cost anywhere near that to replicate. i have a much lower build cost number from dave wagner.

ENTDOC 10-09-2008 07:50 PM

I have built one, it doesn't

xlr8or 10-09-2008 07:52 PM

I hope he gets his price but doubt he will.

ng8264723 10-10-2008 12:14 AM

That $150k was when the dow was 14000, not 8500 and falling.

henryr 10-11-2008 10:50 AM

HE IS FULL OF ****

henryr 10-12-2008 05:58 AM

so the car is $75k minus engine and tranny ?

ng8264723 10-12-2008 06:06 AM

Yes that is correct assembled to a roller. There is no way that FACTORY blocked engine and tranny and assembly would cost $75,000

1985 CCX 10-12-2008 06:11 AM

You also need to highlight a few detailed items as the car uses Autometer gauges, hybrid chassis, no Webers and el cheapo 15" steering wheel. I love this car however it does not look to be in the 150k range even if the Dow was 15000?

If you were to pay to have it built as a turn key it might cost 90k-ish however if one took the initiative and did it themself it would certaily be less than 80 in my opinion. But then again I have not built one yet. Someone is looking to make a large mark up on this one.

Car itself is A-1 and I would love to have it. Add the correct gauges, Webers, paint, old school Dunlops and some other details like 16" MotoLita and it is easily a 100k car. Too bad they did not use the TL suspension.:(

ng8264723 10-12-2008 06:15 AM

Jeff,
Even 100,000 is too high. A big block car is always more expensive to build and they don't fetch that much. Check out this website he has a lot of Kirkham's

ENTDOC 10-12-2008 06:40 AM

ENTDOC 10-12-2008 06:47 AM

bnewell 10-12-2008 07:13 AM
