Period evidence is that the minimum weight of a 260 worm & sector FIA Cobra is 2,028lbs (920kg) and the minimum weight of a 289 rack & pinion FIA Cobra is 2,129lbs (965kg). These weights, including
oil, water and spare wheel but excluding hard top and side-screens, accord with:
Period published third-party weights (see, for example, Road & Track-Sept 62)
1963 & 64 Le Mans Cobra roadster scrutineering weights (Poste VII ‘sur le bascule’ for CS2131, CSX2142 and COX6010)
The present-day weights of period race cars that have not subsequently been modified.
