Water temp sensor? Almost always on the front of the intake manifold right behind the heater hose outlet (which the red arrow points to in this pic of mine).

The green sensor is 0 - 15 PSI (fuel pressure)
The shorter brass sensor is 0 - 100 PSI ( oil pressure)
note both of the pressure gauges have a hole in the end
The longer brass sensors with out a hole in them are temperature sensors. One for oil temp and the other for water temp.
The water temp sensor goes into the intake manifold right behind the thermostat. The oil temp sensor goes in the oil pan.
Hope this helps.

In a Tremec transmission, the speed sensor is built in. In a top loader transmission you will need to buy a converter.

The more I look into this the more I get confused.
I am running webers, small block, there are 2 port holes; one next to the distributor, one behind. I was told to pick up a 90* shut off valve and install one of the heater lines behind the T. housing(as in the above picture), the water temp sensor behind the distributor. All is great.
The other heater hose goes to the bottom water pump nipple. no problem. My recovery tank goes to the nipple off the thermostat housing or off the pump? not sure. This still leaves me with a nipple and no hose to attach it too.
in short; 2 nipples off the pump' one off the thermostat housing and if I install the 90* I have another opening. Is it possible the nipple coming off the thermostat housing replaces the need to mount the hose off the Intake manifold?
Additionally I have 2 smaller tubes coming off the Harrison tank. One looks like it gets fed back to the radiator the other?
After reviewing almost all of the threads on this I'm glad I am not the only one. HELP

Yes, the second one suffered from "shrinkage" after coming out of the pool.

Patrickt, thanks. in fact it was the first picture you posted that helped. I still can not see where the hose from the surge tank goes. Do you 'T' it off from a different line?
2 hearter hose's( I see), the by-pass line (I see). No more nipples! The storage/surge tank no nipple available.

You mean something like this? I have seen it run back to a fitting at the top of the radiator or just capped off. I don't have one on mine (which is the equivalent of capping it off).

unfortunately with the Harrison tank the nipple is 1/2 to 5/8 diameter not the radiator style hose.

Problem solved for the short term. Living in Phx the need for a heater will not be all that necessary so I didn't hook up the hoses. I want to get it on the road, work out the bugs and such. I know I will be back under the hood again, there is still alot of of odds and ends I want to do. I hate the red anodized fittings I want just plain old brushed alum., steel oil pressure line, bradied fuel lines and the #$@#$ heater hoses. I should be able to start the baby next week.

With these cars, most definitely.

ENTDOC posted a message a couple of years ago describing what he did to remove the red and blue coloring from anodized fittings. I can not remember the secret, but I do remember that he reported that it worked quite well. You might want to drop him a PM.

Lye, (drain cleaner) will remove the anodizing...
Better to leave it on and just paint over it though.
