Track Invite - SMMR - Nov 15-16
The Las Vegas Porsche Club and SCCA is hosting another event at Spring Mountain Motor Sports Ranch in Pahrump (just outside Las Vegas) on Nov 15-16. It's a great course - 3.1 mile with 18 turns and very technical. It's also a great event for first time trackers. They host a driving school with great instructors at no additional cost.
Here's the invite: I would like to extend an invitation to you to join the Las Vegas Region, PCA and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) as we host our Last Open Track Days of 2008.
It is being held November 15th and 16th at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.
As part of the weekend (for student/novice drivers), we offer a car control clinic which includes braking and skip pad exercises, along with classroom instruction. Clinic participants also receive one-on-one instruction from our cadre of certified Instructors throughout the weekend.
For the more advanced drivers, we offer 3 different run groups, based on experience, to maximize both safety and track time. Timing is available with transponders for rent at $30/day.
We will be running the 3.1 mile layout.
Track opens at 7:00am and the mandatory Driver's Meeting is at 8:00am.
Cost is only $299.00 for 2 days or $175.00 for 1 day (less than last year). At Track registration fees will be $225 for one day, or $350 for both days. Additional information and on-line registration can be found on our website www.lvrpca.com/events.html or http://lvrpca.webstore.us.com/
I look forward to seeing you out there !!

Note: there is no camping at the track. You must arrange for a hotel or RV park. However trailers may be left in the paddock area overnight. I believe the Saddle West has RV slots.
Here's hotel info for Pahrump: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...::d::25:::::/e
You can sign up online (see link in invite). Please let me know if you're attending.

Doug,
The engine is in the cobra and the installation is almost complete. Just missing the oil cooler. Should be done this week. I won't have enough miles on the new engine in time. So I'll be there on the 15th but not on the track.
Curt,
Tom told me about the Mustang, I'm interested in doing the same so I'll also see you on the 15th.

Scott, it's great to have you back in action again. You just need to drive it to work every day between now and the 15th and maybe a quick trip to LA and back and she'll be good to go! See ya the 15th.

I will be picking up the cobra from Tom's tomorrow. If it runs okay, I will see you at Spring Mountain.
I think there is a group (Irwin) meeting at Norm Bakers Saturday morning and will travel to Pahrump.
