What To Bring Checklist (LCS)
Good chance I'm heading down to the London Cobra Show for the first time. This'll be my first real road trip. What are must-haves to bring?

If you are driving the Cobra then there are a few things that would be handy. I take a Slime kit for flats. It has a small cigarette lighter compressor. It's the best when you have no spare.
I,ve had to use mine couple times and it's a life saver. I would also take a small tool kit with some electrical tools in it too. Also a good lug wrench. I have a folding four way type. Also store a rain poncho behind the seat. One other thing is a small box with your cleaning supplies and one car dust mop. I also carry a bottle of water wetter.

Earplugs! I took my first trip over an hour in my Cobra a few weeks ago and had to stop for some earplugs. Sound doesn't bother me around town, but it gets to you on the highway.
If you have room in the trunk, bring some camp chairs. There's a lot of sitting around chatting on Fri night and Sat afternoon at the hotels. Comes in handy at the show in London also.

Flash Memory
I assume you carry a digital camera? Bring it, but before you leave, look at the memory stick/disk/card and go buy another at least twice as large
with that, you'll still run out of memory but at least you'll get twice as many pictures before you do.

Should I bring my soft top and/or outdoor car cover?? We should see some rain 1 or 2 days. What do most of you do?

Car cover is a good idea. I put everything in the trunk in large pastic bags to keep things dry just in case the trunk leaks.
Driving in the rain is OK if you can keep going 35 or more. I have found a motorcycle coat with a hood works well IF you also wear a hat with a visor. Otherwise the hood gets in the way of seeing ahead.

I don't have a top, but I'm bringing a large, boxy, car cover with four wheels that attaches to my truck

take a basic tool kit as a minimum ......LOTS OF TOWELS in case it rains . Rain-X for the windshield . a funnel and 1 qt of oil . WD-40, duct tape. brake fluid is always handy to have too . A cell phone and AAA card ,or whatever they have in Canada as equivalent - here if you have AAA PLUS RV you get 100 miles of flat bed towing in the RV PLus coverage. 1 or 2 chairs to sit in. hat(s). suntan lotion . Map . Portable GPS is handy. and LOTS OF SMILES FOR THE MILES ........all will be fine . due to prior failures I carry a spare fuel pump and spare distributor and Fix A Flat aerosol can and a 12 volt air compressor. Bill, counting down to L C S .

I just drove the Cobra up from Fort Worth, Texas and arrived in Columbus a couple of hours ago. All of the above are good suggestions. I'm here to tell you, the #1 most important item that I'm glad I brought is SUNSCREEN! I was using SPF 50 and I still got red. I can't imagine what I would look like if I didn't bring it. There is a little bit of rain in the area right now, but the temps sure are alot better up here!

The weather guys are saying a chance of rain all week except Friday and Saturday. If you have a soft top that you can put in the trunk, I would bring it.

clean you windshield on both sides with alcohol and Rain-X both sides. Don't forget to polish with a cotton cloth.
we cover our cars with car covers and then place a small plastic tarp over the interior, held in place with bungee cords.
It has rained on Friday a lot but never on a Saturday. The Strawberry god must be looking over the event.

rain
sometimes it rain when you at a car show, out with the tarp and wait it out.
If you drive a Cobra in the rain you need good rain tires, not slick or road racing tires. Coach Mike proved that last Saturday. Ended up in a ditch but not damage to the Cobra.

in 2007 we had a Friday rain but it did not stop the fun. This lady had her own soft top.
One year we drove from south of Cincinnati to south of Louisville in the rain.
We waited at a truck stop for 5 hours till it stop raining in Nashsville before we continued.

I'd suggest a leggy blonde :-)
It's about the only thing that will turn heads away from all the Cobra's LOL
