The ten day shows mid-ohio to be 86 with a 10-30% chance... not to shabby!

Sooooooon
Seven days till we drive North. We are checking our cars. Stuffing tools and parts into bags. I think we will be able to rebuilt a Cobra on the side of the road!

I leave Oregon on Saturday to tow the car back to London. Loading the car in the Serpent Express and the back of the truck on Fri. afternoon so all I have to do is go over to the storage yard, hook up and go on Saturday morining.
Hoping for reasonable weather for the trip but I'd sacrifice the trip weather for good LCS weather without a second thought.
Been raininy and cloudy here since early May so I'm ready for some of that strange yellow light. I saw some once before a long time ago and I think I remember someone calling it the sun.

DonC wins the prize for an adventure "in moving." Here's hoping that you are not Rothlesbergerd on your trip.

Thanks for the positive thoughts. While, like Rothlesberger, I won't be wearing my helmet I'll have it close if it looks like the traffic is getting ugly. wonder if anyone would take a second look at a guy wearing a helmet inside a Ford Ranger.
Going to be uphill the first two plus days but after Rawlins, WY I'll be starting to coast downhill a little more. Only planning on about 500 miles a day so I don't burn out on the trip and not be able to enjoy the show.
See you all there as long as my luck holds.

Hopefully, your luck and your truck transmission have had good maintenance recently. It only takes us a little over two hours to drive to Columbus without a trailer so I estimate three hours. Quite a difference. My co-pilot wouldn't be game for your trip. Enjoy the adventure.

Tell your co-pilot I'd be happy to trade 3 hours for 5 days out and 5 days back.
Transmission was serviced (fluid and filter) two days ago and the service manager guaranteed me that 5K with 4300 lbs to almost 7000 feet wouldn't be a problem. I'll be calling him direct if there is and I know where he works.
Loading out today for a 6:00 departure tomorrow morning. My wife is looking at it as sort of a mini-vacation not having me underfoot for two weeks except for when she joins me at the show.

Don is apparently on his way. Hopefully, we can meet up with Don and the missus. It would be my honor to buy their dinner Saturday night and learn what happened on the trip.

Yes he did. I met him when I saw his Oregon plate on Main Steet. The OCC guys graciously provided him with a beautiful gift -- a tube of Preparation H at the dinner. He graciously accepted.

Thanks for the update.
So he was "long distance" then.
Congrats, Don C.
He might stop here in Utah the week; we look forward to seeing him again.

He was long distance until a late arrival showed up Saturday night from, where else, HAWAII.
Since he only drove his car from Sunnyvale, CA (where he met up with it after shipping it stateside) and he arrived too late to receive the award, I guess he deserves only this honorable mention. He was disappointed he missed the London festivities.
Kei (forgot the last name) and wife are heading for VIR SAAC.
Good luck to them.

Amazing that some one would have their car FLOWN from Hawaii to LA and then drive it to Ohio! We also had two couples, one from Belgium and one from Chile. No cars though

New Friends
I met Kei and his wife Saturday night. Mike Lane was talking to Kei about his 750 on top of the 427 Windsor. Kei told Mike he needed a larger carb because at a 145 mph he was running out of fuel. Kei looked about 65 years old to me??? They have a new Beatiful Black Cobra with 10,000 mile on it. They retired the Midstate with a 100,000 miles on it. They travel all over the main land every year in a Cobra!
Hope to see them next year at the LCS
Dwight
