While not everyone is in this photo (cast of thousands
) these are the guys primarily responsible for bringing you the London Cobra Show every year.
These guys meet twice a week all year long with weekly meetings as the show grows closer. They are responsible for every last details imaginable and for setting up a 501(C)3 corporation, all the legal and government stuff, getting the raffle cars and hauling the car all over the place and spending weeks selling tickets (one show was NINE days long and they where there every day, all day), etc, etc, etc. ALL volunteers with the only external reward each year is the smoking hot yellow staff shirt you see in the picture.
So when you see these guys, shake their hand, give them a pat on the back or a high five and remember if you have a complaint... they may be cranky, they are tired!
All for you and Cystic Fibrosis!
From left to right:
Rich - your man in London and current OCC president
Rob H - New blood responsible for the great food you will be eating
Brian - Keeper of the cookie jar and consummate organizer
Don - legal counsel and new addition to the family
Rob C - new and enthusiastic youth with the baddest FFR on the planet
Doug - get it done man, the kind EVERY group needs
Mickey - secretary and our memory (some of us really need that!)
Me - heck, I don't do squat
Nick - another get it done type and some one you can always count on
Bill - a cross between a chatty cathy doll and the energizer bunny (he pulls his own string and keeps going, and going, and going) - he badgers potential sponsors until they become sponsors and NEVER gives up
Rod - can only see part of 'dad' as he is taking care of registration
Gordon - another 'can do' guy and a calming influence in an otherwise wound tight group!
Steve - the 'enforcer', get it done or answer to Steve! Your Mid-Ohio liaison and current VP
Frank - Everything from forming the corporation, Treasurer, secretary, registration. yadda, yadda yadda!
Rob F (a lot of Rob's 'eh?) - my top pick for 'sounding board', all around great guy and a great thinker!
Again, there are MANY more folks that make all of this happen... these are the ones that happened to be in front of the camera.
Thanks to all of you (not just those pictured), I am proud to call you friends.
PS: notice the license plate, Frank is not talking about the car
