2002 LSC, stroked 428 to 464 - close to 600hp at the flywheel - bout 450 to the ground (built by Keith Craft), TKO 600 w/.82od, Currie 325 gears/rearend, all discs, Hoosiers R6 all way around, front and rear sway bars, Brandywine candy paint, Aldens all around.

Next mods will be 12.9 brakes and better coil overs. I track it mostly now.

Bought my kit in 2000 from a dealer in Tenn. It took me 28 months to build it. Modified 5.0 (305 rwhp & 308 rwtq) with a TKO, 3:55 in a 8.8, 2001 Viper yellow, 16" Team Three rims, 4 wheel disc and QA 1 coil overs and 4 link. A lot of hand made parts. Every winter I do major mods on my Cobra. Winter before last a new TKO 600. This past winter I build a 354 stroker and installed it. Dyno'ed at 323 rwhp & 375 rwtq. Great motor for cruising, 50 mph 1500 rpm and no trailer hitch jerk. 70 mph about 2000. Pulls like a train from 2000 in 5 Th. gear. And over 20 mpg. BUT I'm thinking about changing the cam for more HP and moving the power up a 1000 rpms. I know I should just leave it along but more horses can't be a bad thing.

I've got a little over 20,000 miles and five trips to London, Ohio on my Cobra.

302 stroked to 347, supposedly 450 hp with 400 at the wheels
British Racing Green metallic with Wimbledon Green stripes
Coddington wheels
T56 6-speed gearbox
Lots of customization...no bumpers front or rear, shaved trunk (no trunk handle), electric doors poppers, additional gauges, non-standard switches, custom carbon fiber dash, AC badges (not Cobra), radio, starter button, custom steering wheel

JUST drove it for the very first time TODAY... I STILL have an erection...LOL

I got my LS427 back from the paint shop last Thursday. I had fully assembled it (less carpet, etc.) and put 150 miles of shakedown on it before disassembly for painting. Now it's going back together. After 5-1/2 years I need to stop re-thinking, re-designing, and upgrading stuff for a while and get it on the road! Carbureted 358 Windsor, Tremec

Any truth to that rumor of Steve being gone or ownership changing, heard tails of Steve changing poducts to something that blows up & Brian being The Man but not sure of ownership?
Things are changing & for the better & it seems Brian is making it happen.

mmmm...I chatted with Brian months ago about the possibility of him buying Steve out, but never heard anything to confirm. I am going up there within the next couple of weeks to get my inspection done, so I will ask him in person!

Just bought mine as a work in progress from a guy near Dallas The Car is now in houston to be finished up. Its actually coming completly a part and back together to verify everything is correct. Overall it appears the fellow did a good job.

Hi Steve, Dennis and Brian, it's been a very long, long time! I don't know if you remember me, Catherine Wayburn!?! I did an in-house build back in 2001/2002, I had it painted Teal with purple Lamans strips. Anyway, much has happened (my health deteriated drasticly) but my Cobra is still my pride and joy! Just wanted to say hi and hope you're all doing well. Catherine

Hello Lonestar Owners
This thread might be dead as last post was on 10-07. I just now found it today and just had to get on the band wagon.

My LSC427 kit was purchased on 8/18/94. It is #24 from Lonestar. So, as far as I can tell, through watching differant threads & forumns, It is the oldest LSC. At least the oldest LSC that anyone talks about. Please come forward and correct me, as I am very curious about this.

The kit was purchased and assembled by Earnest Henderson, in Roanoke Tx. The guy did a fair job putting this LSC together. He sold it to Mike McKeon in Reno NV.

Then in Nov 2007 My wife gets on the Internet, & finds the car that I have wanted all my life, (same story differant players), purchases the car fom Mike. Now LSC #024 lives In Maricopa Arizona. It is powered by a 428FE, TKO 5 spd, and is everything that it's supposed to be. (The guy's that drive them know what I mean. The guy's that don't can only dream the dream). The car gets driven a least once a week, and has been very reliable.

HERE'S A CHALLENGE to all LSC OWNERS

I think it would be interesting to find out how many 2 digit LSC's that are still alive and kicking. I'm sure that there are others that feel the same, so let's hear from you pre-#100 owners, tell us about your LSC. Give a little history if you can. I don't think that Brian has a lot of the records for the older LSC's, but with a little digging you might find some history of your car by talking to the person you bought it from, and even talk to the person they got it from. You might be suprised at what you might learn about the LSC you have in your garage. When you get any info together share it with us. You might have a car that someone will recognize as one they used to own. You may not know anything about your car but they will.

I guess I was lucky enough to get all the records from the guy I got my Lsc from. He kept very good records.

These cars are getting old enough that some have disappeared, reappeared, some stolen, some wrecked. I just think when you own one of these LSC's, it puts you in a different class and we need to keep that class together.

If you will get the info together, and send it to me, I will compile the info into a booklet. I'm sure it would make for some interesting reading. Also next year when we have our annual get together, I will bring several copies to hand out.

By the way when you send the info, send a picture or two. Let's make a nice booklet.

I am not sure if the last digits in the SN indicate the order in which the kits were produced. If it is true then mine in #77 which was fabricated in late 1999. I am the third and probably last owner. Friday is track day for me and my little blue devil!

How do you tell build number. I have a plate that looks a little like a VIN, right by a hood pin on the drivers side. I think my car was built in 99 by the factory for a guy in Utah. I'm the 3rd owner.

951mat,

It is my understanding ( which could be completely wrong) that the last 4 digits in the VIN are related to the production number. I recall a posting on the LSC website from the current LSC owner that this is not correct. If you go through the archieves you might find the thread. Another belief that I am not sure is correct is that some cars were built by LSC. Mine was sold to me under this pretense. After close examination of the paper trail I think it was assembled by the original owner at LSC. This is quite different then LSC assembling the car, good or bad. I can't say for sure but it is interesting.

Even though I have learned many things about the car and the company since I bought it that were not my initial belief I am still a happy camper after 4 years.

I have the same question. How/where, do you find out which number you have ? I have a vin plate on the fire wall, is it on that ?
I think, mine was new in 2000. I also bought a non-finished cobra, it was in Canada.

There is a number stamped into my frame near the passenger's side motor mount. If they all have it it is likely a reasonable order for production, but it may include all frame types, not just LS427s. The VINs are assigned at or near completion. I spent over 5 years building mine, but my VIN is 380 and my frame number (from Jan. '02) is 391.
