Question What rack&pinion unit on a 94'LS427

Subject says it all. What rack&pinion unit would a 1994 LS427 light comp have used? The one thats in it needs replacing and it does not look like a Mustang-II rack. Any help would be appreciated.

John

Steve should know if he would ever look at this websight. Brian would probably know also if you would give them a call. My guess would be it's a Flaming River. That's what came with my kit, and I don't think they have changed sources too much. About the time they stopped "carpartsonsale" is when I met Steve and Brian. They said then that they had very reliable parts sources at that time (Sept 01) and had no plans to change component suppliers. Give them a call.

Default Steering Rack

We did not begin offering Light Competition kits until late 1999. I'm sure you have a Street kit. If you have Mustang II front & rear suspension then it is a Street kit. If you have a 4-Link set up in the rear you have an early version of our Competition. You have a Mustang II which is probably aftermarket. The O.E. rack is pretty poor looking so we have always offered aftermarket. I don't believe we began using Flaming River until 1998 or so. I have new ones in stock for $185 if your interested. Email me a pic of your rack to brian@lonestarclassics.com and I will verfy this. - Sorry for not taking an active roll in the forum. I will be from now on. Lone Star's new website will be up in 4 days. A new LSC customer forum will be included.

Brian
