In the market for my first Cobra..
I live on Long Island so I figured I would start looking here. I did my research and pretty much know what I want. I would prefer a BB but a SB is possible. IRS would be a plus but would consider a solid axle. Looking for a dark gray color, but will consider other colors...lol So pretty much I will look at them all. I have around 34-38K to spend maybe more if it's a Just gotta have one. If anyone has some leads please let me know.
Thanks Marc

That is a good price range to get a pretty nice Cobra. Do you need a longer wheel base Cobra (are you over 6'1"). Have you focussed on a particular manufacturer? Sorry about all the questions but it might help with your decision.

If you can stretch that purchase price to the mid 40's , you will have dozens of additional cars to consider..... you might try a " Want to Buy, cash in hand " ad in Craig's list and other internet sites and find a distressed sale.

I'll have cash in hand. I'm 5"11. I was looking at Backdraft , Hurricane, and Factory five. I would like to find one local if possible. Missed out on a nice Backdraft for 39,999.

Any thought relative to Contemporary bb/so Cobra?

Hey Mark have you found anything yet? I think whenever and whatever you choose you are going to have a blast. Once you get your Cobra you are going to have a ball. Live is much better in a Cobra or Coupe. :)

My vote would be a Contemporary Classic, they can be found in that range.
Second would be Unique

I may have found a Hurricane Cobra. Built in 2009, 351W 420hp, leather, blue and white. I'm going to do a trade I hope if all goes well on my end for him. The Cobra looks real clean. As long as he likes my car it may go through. He's getting an inspector by the beginning of next week I hope.
Am I going to have a problem with DMV? It's titled as a 2009, Make(kit) Model (Cobra) Vin is 10 numbers.
Also has anyone done a trade out of state? How would we go about that since no $$$ is being exchanged? I don't want to send My car on a truck until I have his and I'm sure he feels the same.

What state was it titled in? If it is NY, then no problem. If not, then you might have to go through the process to get a new VIN number and inspection.

Hard to say what will happen. That is basically how NY titles them, so the DMV might just accept it as is, or they may not....best that I can offer. Either way, it should be able to be titled. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks, but I want a standard. Any other leads guys. 34-35K is my range. I'm going to start looking after my vacation. Be home on the 19th. The 2009 is going to give me problems. I talked to DMV and they said it's a 2009 so it have to go through the process. Looking for another now..
thanks

Hi
I have a Unique 1966 Cobra 427 SC built in 1995 by HRE Motors in Freeport (Bill Andrews). Ford 302 (300 hp) 4 speed with Jag IRS. 12400 miles. Porsche black and no stripes. Very clean look. Never raced, garaged and i am the only owner. I recently had Nick at Classic put it through the NYS inspection/registration process to bring it up to date and its now 100% street legal. The car is in excellent condition. I am asking $36,500. If interested call me at 631 220 6456 (Huntington). Don.

I am curious which backdraft for 39,999 you missed, is that the one that was in Pleasanton CA?
If that's the case, you will hate me so much.
