Lotsa Noise
I was told that we will not be restricted by any noise limitations so my side pipes are staying home. This is going to be fun, if I can just stay away from lining-up next to one of those Vets.

Race day
Hi,
Just a reminder, please remember that the cars will need catch-cans on the radiator overflow lines.

Joe......Didn't CHAS gain about 50HP going from sidepipes to shorties?
With the RPMs your motor is capable of this could be a massive performance gain!
Got a catch can.

!!! UPDATE !!!
Joe has contacted the track and there are 1-2 more openings. I just hung up with Andrew and he is coming. Joe already sent up the check for Andrew.
Ray......keep myself or Joe posted if things develop and you can run your car.
Here's the list:
Vito
Compy
JAM
Joe
Bill Gray
Charlie
Steve
Teddy
Andrew
Bernie from NJ
I will NOT be available next Saturday until later afternoon around 3pm.
I will be upstate with the wife until Saturday morning. Saturday still seems to be the best day for a final meeting at Nick's to finalize the plans. But she offered to help me organize the place and set up beds. I now have the back end of this trip laid out . Refueling should be done on the thruway as the road side gas stations enroute do not appear accomodating to our caravan. What do you guys think about the following ?
- Compy mentioned he has a good early Friday morning ralley point off the LIE. This will be rush hour so we may need to meet 6am or earlier to get over the bridges. We can plan to stop for breakfast up the highway or keep rolling . Figure at trailer speed...3-3.5 hrs. I will try to "borrow" some radios from work for each car so we can talk around on the road.
- Directions to the track can be worked out with a map, perhaps hitting the NYS Thruway via Rte 684 to 84West looks good. Besides, after the Throggs Neck it may be in our interest to head up Rte 95 since the Cross BX would have to be murder. The track location is about 15 miles east of Thruway Exit 21-A, near the Ct. border. Joe advises he knows the way up. Lead car !
- This past weekend I drove from my house to NYS Thruway Exit 21,Catskill,
then mapped out the trip to my place. There is some mountanous terrain so I had to ensure we had the safest yet fairly direct route. I now have the best route mapped out. We must take it slow because some of the back roads are 30mph country twisties with not any real options if you roll over the road edge and start sliding into a stream !
Travelling at trailer speeds it's about 28 miles or 40 minutes from the Thruway.
For the return trip home we can go to Kingston Thruway Exit 19, coming from the north via Route 28. It's 45 minutes from the house and we will wind up 2 exits further south down the Thruway. I found an old diner on Rte 28, near the town of Phoenicia with a very large parking lot. We'll need the room to park.
At the housethere are ten single beds, 10 guys staying, Joe can bring an extra air bed, the place is small but the rear deck is big ...oh.. just one bathroom, hope you guys don't mind. Hey ! We're in the damn woods, burgers fired up, beer will be ICE cold , JD on the table , cigars burning with all wildlife fleeing for the hills !! My guess is the boys will be pretty beat by the end of this long day !
Since some guys don't log on and I won't make it Saturday June 3, I hope we can all stay in the loop .

One bathroom for the 55 and older group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding!!!!!!!!
The evening may not be bad, but morning is going to be.......... fun. Then again if anyone hits a skunk on the way up, we can use it as a airfreshner. Think I'm going up with Teddy, take some pictures. Haven't slept under the stars in 40 years, hope Teddy brings the M-16 I'll feel alot better.
Joe.

Maps
All race day attendees, I have made up a number of sets of maps with details to guide everyone to the track. I’ll be at Nick’s Saturday from about 9 to 10 AM for anyone who wants a set, and will also have them available at the kick-off point on Friday morning. Vets may want to take short cuts so as not to arrive to far behind the trailered COBERAS . I think Compy has a place to meet we just need to agree on the time.
Best to all, lets pray for NO rain, Joe

Sounds good Joe ! I agree the Vettes and Bill Gray would have more fun and save much time just heading up the taconic directly to the track instead of our circuitous trailer route !
As far as refreshments for the evening I will by some
7-up, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and a few cases of Miller Lite. Any other suggestions please let me know. If guys like booze I guess it's best to just bring a bottle of what you like. I will be upstate this Fri/Sat with the wife. I will be back in LI by Saturday night. We will buy the drinks and stock an extra fridge to ensure we have some cold beverages as soon as we arrive. We will also pick up some burgers, fries etc. and supplies so they will be ready. There is a supermarket in the town of Prattsville, which is about 4 miles ( down a Steeeeep mountain road!) where a few guys can make a run for extras, salads or whatever else if desired. It sounds like we have it all wrapped up. Compy's got the starting point, Joe will lead the way to the track and I the tail end of the trip !
NO RAIN !!

This is a link to the Lebanon Track site, pretty kool! I'll try to Map quest the ride for Non towing guys, unless Jimmy has good directions. Vito and I will meet up with anyone who wants to follow us. Time and place to be determined (not 5:30 am).

Bill...do we have the starting point update ?
Steve...Bill Gray will also be driving in his SPF. That's 3 drivers. All others will be slow poking it up there with the trailers !
I spoke with Bernie from NJ last night. He visited the track this weekend for the "Muscle Car" closed track event which is the date we tried to re-schedule for our trip. Bernie said it is a terrific track and the Muscle Cars were awesome. I imagine we will be very impressed with track conditions as this is an NHRA certified track.

Boys, Teddy and I vote for the rear parking lot behind the Mobil Station on the north service road of the L.I.E at Glen Cove road , East Hills. (5:30 Am. ). I believe it is exit 39 off the L.I.E.To leave no later than 6:Am. It is a strip mall with plenty of empty parking in the rear and I believe a good north west corner of the county to gather at.
I have made a list of our cell phone numbers (in large print) you may want to tape to dashboards.
Open to other ideas.

Bill, sounds good but do you think we might want to leave a little earlier to beat traffic? I will have maps for everyone at Nick’s Sat. about 10 AM.
Everyone remember to bring a helmet.
