As a new member, I'd love to join you; but can't. Does the LI Cobra group have a web site? Is there a group in NJ? Thanks, Jim

Joe...hopefully we can find you an empty seat !!
Jim...LI Cobras doesn't have a web site yet, for some reason it never left the planning stage. There are alot of owners in Jersey, althought im not sure who organizes events. You might want to start a new thread to see who's out there and where there located !!
Sal...If you leave with a full tank, when we stop for breakfast approx 85 miles there's a gas station across the street. On the return trip we stop again about 30 miles south of Limerock.
Jeff...See ya at the diner somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00
John...Your gonna have cake and coffee at a party instead of driving to Limerock, I don't know !!!

Same as you, no fuel guage I use my trip meter, figure 8mpg around town 11hwy. for me. You'll do alot better with your set up. Was told you can't use a fuel guage in a fuel cell. Have a mech/elect. fuel pumps, run on the mech. when you got low on fuel switch to the elect. the pick up is lower and is suppose to give you several more gallons, I don't plan on trying that.
Joe: If I was going you'd be welcome with me, but I'll be in Aruba and it just so happens it's when they have their International Drag Races. "Gee honey I had no idea" think she'll buy that, yea me neither. (since I picked the date of this vacation). If you go, bring something warm to wear in the morning, we hit a fog bank last year it got cold. The return trip home is like Cannon Ball Run so buckle up! Have fun guys, see you in a few.

Hey Bob,
Do you need to call ahead to register or be on some sort of list for Sunday? Or do you just show up and they put you out on the track. I'm in if the weather is permissable. Hope it's a great turn out. Let me know.
P.S. Great time at the FFR picnic!!!

Hey Mike:
Just show up. If you get your tickets in advance at AAA they're $17, day of the show with AAA membership card they're $20, no card they're $25 per person. Don't forget SAAC takes another $5.
Did you get my email?

Sorry to "dampen" spirits but it seems like rain is forecast all weekend for the Northeast. Is the Rolex Festival a rain or shine event?
I guess a final go/no go decision will be made at Nick's on Sat? If so, can someone post it here as I may not make it to Nick's...
Thanks!

What's the verdict here, is this officially cancelled? They are calling for rain and thunder showers pretty much all day.

weather report
From talking to the guy's down at the shop today, a few will not go at this point no matter what the weather forcast is, some have shined there cobra's up and are hesitant to dirty them...and you know who you are !!!. My concern is will the rain pass tonight so we have dry roads in the morning....im watching the radar and it seems where by the end of the rain cycle...I will post a Go or No GO after a final look at the weather around 9PM.

No Trip to Limerock
After a final check with the radar it doesn't look good for tomorrow morning, the storm is just not passing through fast enough.
This trip is a no go.

Lime Rock was a little short on cars, especially Cobras, but all who turned out had a really good time. The weather was not too bad...the rain stopped by 8:30 and remaind cloudy for the rest of the day. ERA had four of their cars there, as did FFR. I spotted a few original Cobras also (they weren't afraid of the rain) and I will post some pics soon. Plenty of Ferraris, Astons, Jags, BMWs, etc. and a bunch of original Trans Am cars. Nice day considering.
With all due respect, most of the 'money' cars were probably holed up in enclosed trailers until the weather broke.

The field was about 20% of last years showing for all cars. I saw 2 original Cobras and just a hand full of others. A few exotics were out, some of the racers but many were wrapped up and in trailers. A few Austin-Healeys, Jags, some 50 & 60’s cars and only a hand full of Mustangs.
The sun did manage to pop in and out most of the afternoon. All in all I would say it was a good day to get a trophy – not much competition. Other than that an un-crowded ride in the country.

Having seen a real 1962 Ferrari GTO, Dick Smiths 427 S/C CSX3035, Edelbrocks Smokey Yunick Camaro, 3 George Follmer Boss T/A's, a real 1965 Shelby GT 350 R-Model SFM5R100, and a couple of vintage GT- 40s, I don't know what "money cars" could possibly hold a candle to the cars that were there. I thought the cars there were impessive. The GTO made my day.
