Hi Guys
Due to the sad state of my motor - broken - Does anyone have an empty seat for the ride into the city! |
I'm planning on this. I was in two years ago. Fun but it started to rain as I left for Philly. Bummer. This time with the cute blonde finace'e.
How far out is OBI? what town? south shore I assume? ziggy |
Ziggy...I remember you, we all got cought in the rain that day..
OBI is right off Ocean Parkway in Suffolk County, coming in from the city jump on Southern State Parkway east to Meadowbrook Parkway south, the Meadowbrook turns into Ocean Parkway by Jones Beach.. Are you starting out with us or just meeting us at Columbus Circle ?? Tony |
Do we have a headcount for NJ? I am in. Meeting place? times?
|
Hope to be there at McDonalds. That was fun, driving into NYcity with all the car motion alarms going off.
Might have to bag it on the OBI thing though. Have to take the bride to be back to Monmouth County NJ. If you head back via the BQE and Belt, I will tag along until the VZ Narrows bridge. |
Tony,
i am planning on meeting you guys at the McDonalds a little before 6. See you then. Conrad |
Dane:
Right now I believe Jamie is coming along with possibly another cobra guy from Bergen County and myself. I am scheduled to speak to him at the end of the week as to a meeting point. You in? If so, makes my trip in from NJ a little more fun. Anyone else???? Jim |
Ziggy:
You are welcome joining us coming into the city from NJ. I will be passing thru Secaucus from Morris County into the Lincoln Tunnel. If interested, OM me for contact numbers. Jim |
Do you think we should plan for a ralley point when we exit the city prior to re-entering or immediately after the Midtown Tunnel ? Last year we lost cars on the return trip. It's always nicer to stay in formation !
There may be an area to the right of the tunnel exit going east. |
I plan on being there too.
Tom S. |
Jim, Dane,
I spoke with Mike Hahn and he may be able to go along along as well. I am going to meet with Jeff Shepperd who lives up in North Jersey (Real North New Jersey - even from me) and we are going to come in via the GW bridge. Not sure of Jeff's thoughts, but if we all wanted to meet at a central location prior to heading into the city I am sure we could figure something out. One place that could make sense is the Lombardi Service/Bus Area. Otherwise it is a meet up in the city at Columbus Circle. Jamie |
Jamie;
I'm open to options, let me know what works best. Jeff |
Hey Jersey boys, i'm glad to see you are going to join us for our little round up at columbus center. please remember that our permit is from 7am to 9 am so please try to be here as close to 7am as possible.
Bobby |
So Jam, do you want to meet in Morristown at 6:00am and meet up with Jaime from there?
Jaime we should meet somewhere on Rte 46 on the way to Rte 3, or on Rte 3 on the way to the tunnel. Whats best for you? |
Meeting place for Jersey guys
How about the Bendix Diner between north and southbound lanes of RT 17
in Hasbrook Heights It is virtually across the street from Rt 46 3 miles north of Rt 3 1/2 mile south of Rt 80 We can jump onto Rt 46 east and be at the GW bridge in five minutes and the food is good. any thoughts? |
We could do the Bendix. Would prefer to avoid rt 46. Road surface sucks and lots of untimed lights. We could cut over to route 80. At that time of day 80 should be clear.
Unless of course there is an accident on the bridge at 1:00 am and they shut it down all night....but that would never happen......2 days in the same year at least. %/ My preference would be the Lombardi Service Area on the turnpike. Jim Van and Mike Hahn would be able to meet there easier than rt 46 and rt17 |
