Long Island Cobra Run to Columbus Circle 10/1/06
Once again Bobby will lead us to Columbus Circle and the ever popular non existant trophy dash back to OBI on the South Shore.
LONG ISLAND COBRA RUN !!!! Rumble through the Tunnel !!!! *********************** Date: Sunday Oct 1, 2006 (Weather permitting) Meet: McDonalds on Hempstead Tpke in Uniondale opposite Nassau Coliseum. ¼ mile WEST of Meadowbrook Pky Departing: 6:20am Sharp Join us for an early morning trip through the Midtown tunnel to Columbus Circle in Manhattan and join the guy’s from the Columbus Center Cobra Club for a photo shoot, starting at 7am. T-shirts will be available to participants. We will be in front of the Columbus Center for approx an hour. After the photo shoot we will depart Manhattan for the South Shore of Long Island to finish at the OBI parking lot. Route: Hempstead Tpke to Meadowbrook Pky North, merging into Northern State Pky West (Grand Central Pky) to the Long Island Expressway. Through the Midtown Tunnel and up 3rd Avenue to 60th Street and cut over to 59th by way of 5th Avenue right up to Columbus Circle. Return back to Meadowbrook Pky right into Ocean Pky, and over to OBI |

I attended the event last year without my Cobra, but weather permitting I will be there. It was a great little gathering last year. If you do not mind, will contact a few of the other Joisey Boys around to see if I can get them to attend. I know of at least a few of them that would love to be included. Jim |

thank you for posting this run. lets hope for a great day like last year and hope for a bigger turn out. last year we had 27 cobras. Jim the Joisey boys are welcomed to attend just let them know our permitt is from 7am to 9am. i have contacted the owner of custom & stock magazine and he is very interested in coming down to take photo's, maybe we can all make his next edition? i'm looking forward to see as many of you as possible this year. The Columbus center cobra club is not an organized club. When I first got my cobra I starting working here at Columbus center. My two bosses after seeing my car went out and got ones for themselves. So I decide we would be the Columbus center cobra club. It’s a lot like the army saying, we are an army of one.... we are a club of 3!!!!! I came up with our logo and it just took off from there. I get a permit from the city and hire a photographer to take pictures of us and I buy T- shirts to give out to all who make the run into the city. Hope that clears the air on the Columbus center cobra club??? |

I am going to error on the side of caution. It is not a combustabile matrial in the Vehicle and traffic law but why take the chance. I will leave it home.
