Bear Mtn could be a fun run. Upstate Cobra Club would meet us there if we reached out. We could throw some Hot Dogs on a grill , grab a soda and head back. It is about 170 miles round trip. There would only be 3 problems. 1) Bill would need extra nos carrying capacity (Cobra trailer?)
2) It would be difficult to keep Joe L. from driving straight to Lebanon Dragway !
3) Then.....the wide open Taconic ....well....that's Mongoose territory !
I know...sounded like a good idea 4 yrs ago heh ? I'm pretty sad. I hate myself. Sorry Bobby
Unfortunately, the 23rd is out also for me . The wife and I will be upstate all week. It sounds like a great rain date however !!

JAM..Actually the Bear Mountain run sounds like a great trip, I like to drive... .. and it's less miles then Lime Rock.......and the Taconic in the early morning is even more fun then the Hutch...im in..
As far as port Jeff goes...I had to switch days off for the 9th, unfortunately I will not be able to get the day off on the 23rd.

And don't forget the "Goat Trail" as it's called that leads you up from the Hudson River to the Bear Mtn. bridge...
Would love to tag along if you're passing by New Rochelle on the Hutch. Pkwy headed to the Taconic.

I headed out at 10:AM from the North Shore via 25A with the sun peeking out and got as far as Smithtown where it started to drizzle a bit. It was looking ominous further east so I did a Huey and pulled into a gas stop, dialed Tony A. to learn that the ride was off...oh well...I guess I should check email early next time.
I'm good for the 23rd as of now and the Bear Mtn. run sounds great. I remember doing a Bear Mtn. ride with another car club a few years ago and someone had brought a grill, broke out the dogs and burgers, a couple of coolers, and it was also a nice place for hiking. The parking areas get full quickly and a photo op there could be a problem. It could be a good place to rendezvouz with upstate and NJ cobras as Jim says

Gentlemen, Looks likes the Bear Mountain run is something that may actually take place, I am getting some positive feed back. Now comes the fun part, can we all agree on a date? Would June 30th or July 7th work for all of us?

If its June 30th I know I can add two cobras to the pack...Just so you know Bear Mtn. has a car show every Wednesday night. If the weather is good you can expect at least 200-300 cars and almost as many bikes. They have a DJ and good food,. makes for a great night.

Thanks for putting together a nice low key cruise. Sorry I couldn't hang longer. Can you post that link to where you usually put the pic's. Any word on doing that Wading River run again, dates, etc.
Thanks

I am such a jerk ! I cannot believe I missed you guys ! I was upstate all week and was not aware of the rain date change...besides we had not planned to return until Sunday. But as luck would have it (weather) we came home late Friday night . I went to Nick's around 11am and there was nobody there !! Well...you guys seized the day and it appear you all had an awesome run !!
