Need junk old wheels and baloney skin tires
Anyone here on LI have any old rusty old wheels and bald tires sitting around that they want to lend out or get rid of? I just need to mount them on my car temporarily to roll it around the garage. It's Jag bolt pattern, which I'm told is Chevy. The don't need to be roadworthy in any way, shape or form - the car doesn't even have an engine in it. No mags or performance tires needed - just some rusty old Chevy rims from an old Impala or something, and the tires only need to be good enough to hold air and roll the car around on. If someone wants to lend them out I'll be glad to return them when I'm done, if you want to just get rid of them permanently because they're junk and in your way that's fine too. I'm in West Islip, I'll gladly come wherever they are to pick up. Thanks!

Yeah, the junkyards are next. I figured that if someone had junk laying around, it's easier for both of us. A long shot I know, but what the heck, ya never know. While I'm here, am I correct in assuming that the Jag bolt pattern is the same as Chevy?

Seemed odd at first, but at a restoration shop I had seen plywood cut round to be used as the tire and then holes drilled for mounting. The purpose was for moving the chassis in the shop, appeared to work fine

Mine's a complete roller, I doubt the plywood would hold up. Cool idea though, for a bare chassis it would probably work just fine.

The doughnut spares work great. And they have so many they usually have to pay to get rid of them so don't let them charge too much. I got 2 free and 2 for 10 a piece.

I have 3 sets of tire casters in Southampton from when I used to jockey 7 Minis in a 2-car garage! It allows pushing around in any direction. If you only need them for a couple of months, you can borrow a set until Thanksgiving or so.

Thanks, Ray. I have lots of room in the garage, I just need to get the car off of jackstands so I can roll it in and out of the garage and send it out for some work to be done. Thanks for the offer, though!
