Sal,
Take the Northern State Pkwy to the Meadowbrook Pkwy Southbound. Get off at Exit M5 Westbound (Hempstead). Go about 1 Mile and the McDonalds is on the left side. No possible way that you can miss it.

It’s directly across from the entrance to Hofstra University at Uniondale Ave. just before the overhead footbridge and past the Nassau Veterans Coliseum.
The address is: 1110 Hempstead Tpke, Uniondale, NY 11553

I'm wondering if Northern State/GCP is still chopped up for resurfacing, and if SS to CIP would be a better bet

Do we need to bring any lunch with us, or will there be food there? What about chairs (had to fit in a Cobra anyway)?

Sal,
There is food available at the track. However, you may want to bring something with you as sometimes there are long waits and if you are hanging around your car and others most of the time the concessions are usually a good walk.
Bring a chair if you think you may spend time just hanging by your (or others) car.
In the past I have brought my lunch with me and a chair so that I could spend more time walking the track and seeing all the cars. The day goes by quickly.

Sal...there is a pretty good food concession at the race track, but I might bring a Deli sandwhich and spare myself the wait on the food line. Some guy's bring chairs but to tell you the truth..you will probably be walking around through the paddock area checking out the vintage race cars, exposition area and the of course the car show. We really don't do much sitting.

So we are departing from Micky D's at 6:30, is everyone planning to be there sometime around 6 am?
Also, any reason I can't take the LIE to exit 44 (rte135) and then jump on the Northern State there?

Bob...we are all driving over the bridge.
Sal..we are departing at 6:30, you can arrive early if you wish, most of us arrive between 5:45 and 6:15. how you arrive is up to you.
Also if you take the Expressway and exit at rt 135 SOUTH you can not pick up the northern parkway because there is no west bound exit going south on the rt 135...

Tony,
Nice run yesterday. A little tough getting caught up on return run. We were at tail end with Bobby and kept getting red TSL's and then locals in the way. Couple of d**kheads blocking us. When we finally got around we caught up. Saw one trooper with a victim, glad is was not one of us.
Jamie, glad to meet you and put the face with the name. Gashole shirt gave you up. Thanks for letting my son use your chair for awhile.
Tom S.

Tom -- Good meeting you. It was a great day and real nice drive up to Lime Rock. Also met FIA Joe Lombardi. Can you guys get Ron to finish his car so he can join NEXT year!
I have picture of Sal ensuring that one of the many road kills on rt.22 was completely finished off as he changed lanes. I will try to post it.
