Ray:
Assuming you're driving each vehicle the same amount of miles, you're averaging about 16 MPG.

I got mine out Sunday and Monday. What a blast! Extra snappy in the cold air too. It was only in the low 40's. Had to layer up and wear the "Elmer Fudd" hat. LOL

Hehe.
Thanks Bob but unfortunately, I had to dump the fuel in the Mini. I forgot to put Stabil last fall. Last time I filled up was Jun'07. So with 5 gallons of fresh, Southampton, 3.89 per gallon fuel, not quite as much mpg!

Yup, the one with the Italian sounding name (Renz?) . Napa had it. Problem solved. Do they still creep? Do I need to retorque often?
I also installed the poly motor mounts to stop the right side exhaust bracket from breaking all the time.

They don't move...althought I go around are retorque once a year as part of my spring tune-up and oil change, just for piece of mind.

60 breakin miles today
Drove sixty of the sweetest breakin miles driven so far. Went down to Cape May, NJ on the parkway south with 60+ degree weather! I can't wait for the next 60 degree day. Although I have been driving with anything over 48.

I got a chance to get out today for about 20 minutes and one exit on the LIE of spirited driving. I noticed that my water temp gauge did not move at all, which seemed strange. It was brisk out there, somewhere between 40 & 50 I would presume and everything else seemed in line gauge wise and overall perfomrance. I wonder if my coolant is low enough that a temp reading would not register or if the outside temp + the short nature of the drive just did not allow the engine coolant to get hot enough. I am thinking it is the first. I will have to pop the cap off and have a look.

Joe, could be the sender. I've been out in cooler weather and the water temp needle always moves from the peg. I cover the oil cooler as the oil stays too cold to do any good.

A little off the subject but I got to drive my rented Mustang on the Homestead Speedway yesterday. We (the wife and I) did a bunch of laps in the 52 - 55 second range (100+ MPH). The best part was when the pace guy stopped the line to tell the driver of a Boxster to either keep up or park it. Of course all of this is child's play when you consider the IRL guys were running in the mid 20s (214 MPH) the night before. Those guys (and gals) have big balls.

Slojoe
I was out yesterday in the afternoon because it was a bit too cold for a ride to Captree in the morning at 35 degrees, it took a while for the oil and water temps to come up, but they were just a little below normal due to the temps below 50 at highway speed.
Bob
To bad you didn't have a stick in that car, what did you think of the handling ?? I just bought an 08 mustang gt and body roll seems more pronounced then my previous 01 GT, maybe after it's lowered a bit this will improve.

I pulled to cap off and she is bone dry. Well not quite bone dry but empty as empty can be. Any special requirements to be mindful off or will off the shelf Prestone do? Also, any recomendations on mix? 50/50 or just straight coolant?
Thanks

Never run it straight! 50/50 is fine. Mix it first and store a gallon in the garage.

Final got out this weekend - the 50++ temp was just warm enough to feel like spring. The day started with a heavy dark overcast but as the sky cleared and went a bright blue with puffy white clouds all was right with the world.
My co-pilot had her hood up and tight and a face mask covering all but her sunglasses and we got some looks from the less fortunate (those without cobras) but she was warm and we had some fun with it making the ride all the more fun. Stopped at Blackwell’s Steak House in Wading River for lunch made a toast to celebrate the day and had a “nice” ride home. The car was happy, I was happy and had a full belly it put the whole winter behind me. I’m ready – can’t wait for good weather!

Blackwell's, where is that exactly? Yeah I got out this past weekend too with the Mrs. Too warm for me with the heaters going, but too cold without for the wife. Better warm then cold if you know what I mean. I still get that wierd smell when I run the heaters. I wonder if I have a small leak somewhere. I might have Nick at Classics' pressure check the system when I take her in for my annual.......the car that is (he.he). I just remembered that my path crossed with a vette on motor pkwy. I was a gent, but he wanted action, so the Mrs. chides me afterwards that 'I got smoked'. Can you believe that? Can't win with the ladies. It has been a little while since she has 'grabbed the dash', but maybe it's time again.

Blackwell's is at the Great Rock Golf Course - 25A to Sound Ave, 1st left onto Fairway Drive, next left into club & Blackwells –
If you want to drive a little more go a little further down Sound Ave to Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow or a little further and turn right going south on Roanoke Ave and a left on Reeves Ave to the Olde Vine Golf Club – Stonewall Rest. also very nice.
All three have good food (not 4 star but good)
I’ve gone to Blackwells a dozen times with the cobra no one goes near it. Nice patio on the fairway in the summer for food & drink.
I don’t golf – they don’t seem to care –
Might make a nice trip for our group this year – I’m sure they would be happy to have us.
