I think we are looking at temps ranging from 55 - 62 at the highest. There will be a number of stops along the way to ensure you are not frozen... these temps are far from freezing for "the men".

Jay, What's the car count? Are any cars coming in from NY? Do we have a schedule? Is there an official route as yet?
Where are we meeting up? How about the rest area at the intersection of the Wilbur Cross and Route 34, or Route 63 (or 69) and the Wilbur Cross, or the bottom of Route 254.

Waiting for LI, NY guys to get in. If we don't have them we don't need to worry about meeting up. I have 2 car confirms from NY area, about 10 cars from different parts of CT, and 1 from MA.
The CT guys will be meeting up in the Trumbull area where 15 and 8 intersect. I am hoping we get more response from LI. If they are all in then there is a ferry arriving in BPT at 10am on Sunday. Figure 30 minutes for unloading and driving to the first checkpoint of 8N and 15. So CT guys need to be there before 10:30am. There is a rest stop or other land mark in that general area we can use to stage.
It will all be on paper and planned by Friday night, beyond what is already well thought out. I need until Friday night because I intend to drive the Northern route on Friday and find additional checkpoints and the Pizza place.
Where is Mr. Butrick?

Back to the run...AJ's Steak & Pizza House is on Rt. 63 in Goshen. It has a large paved parking lot and comes highly recommended. Something to consider.

It's actually on Route 4 (just west of 63 at the round-about) but it sounds like a plan. Sounds like a good spot for a group photo. I'll bring the camera.

Cobra Run
Jay;
Sounds like fun, count me in.
1. Is there a place to meet around the junction of route 8 and 84?
2. If the only place to meet is at 8 and 15, where exactly are we meeting?

Ken:
A good place to meet above Bridgeport is at Exit 12 on Route 8 (Old Stratford Road). It's easy off, easy on. There is no good place to meet at the junction of 15 and 8.
If anyone coming over from LI wants me to meet them at the Ferry let me know. Boats arrive at 8:45 and 10:15 (best time). www.bpjferry.com
I'm thinking if we're going up 254 (Exit 38 on Route 8) to Litchfield we could also meet at the Dunky Donuts in Thomaston or right at the bottom of Route 254.
I checked with a guy here at work who travels Route 8 from Bridgeport to Exit 39 and he says the road has no construction or paving prep going on at this time.

Dunkin Donuts at Thomaston (exit 38 on Rt 8) would be an ideal place for me to meet up, as well as anyone coming up or down I 84, as it is only a few miles north of Waterbury. It is probably twenty/thirty minutes north of Bridgeport. There's also a Sunoco station and a commuter lot.

I 've had some intermittent ignition problems but it looks like I got it licked. I'll try to meet at exit 38 in Thomaston as well. What time at exit 38?

Don't hold me to it yet. Anticipate the following:
Approx 10:40am meet at Exit 12 off Route 8 North ( TBD)
Approx 11:20am meet at Exit 38 off Route 8 North (at the Dunkin Donuts)
Approx 12:00pm lunch at AJ's Steak & Pizza in Goshen
Approx TBD meet at Cornwall Bridge (Photo Opps.?)
Approx TBD meet at Wheels and Wings Car Show at Candlelight Farms, New Milford
Approx TBD (I need a stop suggestion along 25 before RTE 8 and RTE 15)

For those already in north/central CT??, we are working to put this together and meet up with the other group at AJ's Steak & Pizza in Goshen @12:00. We could meet at Dunkin Donuts on RT-20 at say 10:30. Let me know what you think.

Bobby:
Noreen and I will meet you at the Ferry around 10:15. I'll have maps for you. Remember, you need to have the car covered on the boat. A sheet of plastic (home depot) will work. www.bpjferry.com
