Have you seen the one that Friedman did with Dick Guldstrand? It's about Corvettes, but has lots of good stuff showing competitors including some Cobras.

Steve,

No, I haven't seen the one about the Corvettes. Our only bookstore that really had anything or could order it went out of business so I have to browse on the net now to look at books. It seems everything around here has gone out of business except a couple of the larger parts places and they have cut back on inventory.

Ron,

I'm pretty sure that this Cobra was "rebuilt" many years later, supposedly with pieces of the scrap removed from the Shelby dumpster by some employee...

The Friedman book on Corvettes that I have is on the Grand Sport Corvettes.

You may be correct about it being rebuilt. I heard back then that they destroyed the vin numbers so nothing could be reused. I was down there at the time and now I wish I had gone over and looked at it. Heck, I could have probably bought the whole pile for almost nothing.

The book is called Corvette Thunder, and is available from Dick Guldstrands web site. Friedman and Guldstrand signed a lot of them, but I also know that they don't update the website a lot.

There is also another one about the L88 racing Corvettes with lots of great race photos.

Both are worth checking out.
