Obama Throws Holder Under the Bus
Oblunder says it was Holder's decision (fault ?) that the Terrorist are being brought to New York.
Again Obama was "unaware". Yeah right

3 choices,
1. Both obummer and the AG are lying again.
2 obummer shirked his Presidential responsibility.
3. obummer's controller made the decision.
Choices 1, 2, and 3 are all BAD, but there are no other choices until 11/12.

I think N.Y. is the perfect venue for prosecution! Good call on the administrations part, regardless of who actually made it.
Thrown under the bus? More like giving Holder a slap on the back for a job well done.
While they are a few vocal folks that think it's a bad idea, there are plenty of 9-11 surviror family members that applaud this decision.

There are many reasons why I feel that it is inappropriate and illogical to prosecute them in NYC. They are TERRORISTS not civilians. Their rights are limited at best and should not be given the same privleges of non-enemy combatants. Many of my concerns are outlined here- http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...569546414.html

Balance point, I'm sure there are many that would agree with your view point. I don't, but that's just my opinion.
We need some kind of resolution other than holding "enemy combatants" for life without appropriate legal representation.

Its not complicated. We are at WAR! Declared by them. We have Military Courts for war criminals. They should receive a fair trail in the Military Court and then taken out and shot!
Actually, since these particular dufi have already admitted guilt AND requested execution. They could have been lined up at the wall long ago and this problem would long since have been solved. Our policy in future should be, Capture, Try, Execute, and move on. Why do you think its called WAR!
This NY trial is obummer theater for his own Muslim reasons.

Obama made a statement the other day, in regard to them being brought here for trial, and those that oppose it. He stated that after they are convicted and sentenced to death, the nay sayers will not complain.
So here is the President, already convicting them and passing a death sentence. Even a defense fresh out of law school would know that he should file for a mistrial as the entire jury pool is tarnished. After all, the President says he is guilty.
And needless to say, he was not using a telepromter when he made this statement.

A military court works for me! One way or another let's get on it.
I do like the idea of a more public trial on US soil with a US civilian court however. I think it will result in more closure than a military trial, but that opinion is controversial at best.

They have granted terrorists rights available to US citizens. It is ludicrous!
Based on this precedent, if our soldiers someday apprehend Osama bin Laden without reading him Miranda rights, he may be able to come into US court and have his case thrown out!
Our Republic as we know it is in serious jeopardy...
I tell you this, if KSM gets off, Obama's presidency will be finished IMO. How is it possible to respect him as Commander-in-Chief? How can soldiers in the field feel like they can expect any kind of support when stuff like this is going on? IMO, he is desecrating the memory of the entire military, past and present, as well as American citizens by establishing a precedent as damaging as this.

Oh stop being so paranoid fastd, man up son!
It's been acknowledged by all those involved there is no way these guys are going free no matter what the results of the current trial. They will simply be charged with additional crimes or continued to be held. The trial is about closure for the American people, much the same way Nazi trials were and still are held years after the fact. Some crimes are so hienous they need to be aired out, publicly.

Agree or disagree with the topic...not the poster.
If you feel you can't post in a thread without going after a fellow member for his opinion, then stay off the thread

I do agree that they need to be prosecuted and promptly. Any intel that could be extracted at this point is likely not viable so it seems the best for our countyr to get some closure. It seems ludicrous to me though that it is being considered that they are prosecuted anywhere other than a military court.

The proceedings are to "closed up" with a military court for my liking. Plus the appeals process for a death sentence is substantially longer than a civilian court. All though, even with a civilian court we are likely ten years out from a formal settlement of the issue. Some "world court", like was used for the Nazi's would also be a good alternative.
Actually, I'm not so sure they should get a death sentence, by the way! I think Super Max for life would be a good choice. That would deny the martyr status they seek.

Even though death seems a minimum just punishment, I think a very miserable existence would be contrary enough from their martyr wishes to be far worse than death. I'd be ok with paying for that.

I agree that death is a minimum sentence. They deserve a fate worse then death. I think they should suffer. But I dont think the American tax payers should be the ones to foot the bill.
I guess there are some that would not think twice about it though like yourself. Thats cool if that is what you want to do. I just don't feel like paying for it.

Stoning them with chunks of concrete from the trade center buildings works for me.
Definately not at the site though, that's holy ground. Perhaps in one of New York's fine sewers.

You know I'm wondering if it would be CHEAPER to put them in Super Max for life than to fund the numerous and lenghty appeals required by law in a death sentence case!
