What you are looking for is obsolete and no longer produced. I sold my set to Ernie when I upgraded from bolt on wheels to Trigo true knock offs. I spent roughly 6 months looking for a replacement adapter and finally bit the bullet and did the proper upgrade. If you do a search of the classified section I do believe there is one set listed a few months before I listed mine, they might still be for sale.

I have one of them "on display" in my new living room. I'm stoked to have the set, thanks Bill.

By the way, this thread should be somewhere else, not the Lounge.

Cheezy you think? I think they are very practical and very difficult to tell from true knockoff's. Now there ARE some caps/spinner combo's out there that are a little "cheezy", but not the Compomotive ERA supplied units. In my opinion of course, liked them so much I bought a second set (to run slicks on for easy changing at the track). By the way, does a bolt on adapter for knock off wheels count as "real"?

Put some wire on the spinner and you would have to look twice and close to tell the difference. I know, I've caught several folks who miss took them until I said, "Look again, a little closer this time."

...eh eh, now that's stirring the pot!

Those on Ernie's Cobra do look great. I never noticed them until I asked him why he never had any safety wire and he told me to look close. My Coupe has the real knock off wheels on it and if you parked them side by side I bet most of the people would not noticed any difference.

These are what I sold Ernie (left rear shown in picture below).....

With the safety wire installed, 99.99% of the people never knew they were not real knock offs....

Ron,

Those are his originals, the ones I sold him are not currently on the car. Mine are the spares he spoke about above.

Just as an FYI to anyone looking at this thread CLICK HERE for the only other set of ERA bolt on rims with knock offs I've seen listed since I sold mine to Ernie. Not sure if Jeff still has them or not, but it is worth a shot.

Ok, Bill, he did say he had a spare set but never said where he got them. Here is the ones that he keeps changing colors on which are on the car. This is the right rear wheel.

wow thanx for the responses guys, i called era quite a while back and the gent was firm that he was not so into them. to each his own. right? but in a dark colour the transition to the wheel is much less noticable. i think excaliber's shot looks great, and for me, with the exeption of unsprung weight these are definitly a possibility. now! what front spacing is best on my centerlines to make this all happen?? (ford bolt pattern). p.s. i did go to the classified halls and there were some of these and also some halibrand style wheels as well so choices choices...now what can i sell from the garage to free up some fun tickets thanx again everybody!!!!

Years ago a spinner came off and I lost it and the wheel insert. Called ERA, Bob (strictlypersonal) thought he MIGHT have ONE left, in the attic somewhere... It was the deep rear cover that I needed and by golly he had ONE! Seem's to me it cost about $300 bucks, including shipping. I didn't complain, just was happy to have a complete set again. I remove them when on the track, the wheel itself is incredibly light.

i've had the centerlines alone on the car for ever (since 1993) and always hoped i would get a set of more authentic looking wheel caps or wheels it just makes the car look so much better, actually i am quite pleased that these e.r.a. caps are still used and seem to be enjoyed, i thought they had just vanished from the planet. almost every car from the early replica years that i saw had these exact items on and every person i asked was not able to steer me in the right direction. but i guess i came to the right place! if i ever find one e.r.a. cap and spinner by the road side, that appears to have fallen off it's cobra i will send it home to excaliber asap!

Hey Ernie, how much should I charge him for the ones on the Cobra now? He can repaint them back to the dark color.
