Don,
I believe it was the difference is the way they race that maybe slowed Montoya down some and very few people, new or coming from another type racing are really going to be a threat their first year or so. One pleasant surprise for me was Tony Stewart doing so well his first year as an owner driver, as both of his cars made the chase. But he has proven that he can be competitive in any kind of racing except drag racing. I don't think he has tried that. Even though Montoya did well in the other series, there is a huge difference is racing inches apart with 42 other cars at those speeds and in cars that don't handle as well as the open wheel type.

Not taking anything away from Tony Stewart's driving, owner and management skills, the chassis, engineering and engines are purchased from Hendrick.

So area lot of the others. Hendrick seems to have the Chevys really figured out better than the others. Childress was starting to show some progress at the end of last year. Maybe if he gets his stuff up to the Hendrick level there will be someone to challenge JJ next year.Ron

I think Montoya was a little to hot headed the first couple of seasons and is just now starting to settle down so he can do some serious raceing with J.J and gordon and others.
I still dont like the new "ricer looking" car of tomorrow,it dosent look like anything you can buy at a dealer near you.
as far as things go with Danica Patrick in NASCAR.......its all marketing........
she will go out and run some ARCA races and some Nationwide races and if she does well ,then good for her......i would gladley take her place.....

Bob,
Ok, so they can't come out in a bra and panties as it is a family sport. So lose the bra. NASCAR would love to have the Hooters Girls. Come to think of it, so would I and no nasty remarks about my age please.
