So far Ron, Spring seems to be coming early this year to the West coast.
I'm just hoping it continues, even though I know it won't. ![Frown](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

The grape growers are afeard that this warm weather will be followed by a frost, which is deadly for the grapes.
It's not global warming, it's just that the polar ice cap is moving to the east coast and we must be where Mexico used to be.

Tru,
This is the first real rain it has had in 4 years. This Summer it will be just dead and dusty as usual. We are still on water rationing of sorts. In fact the lake still isn't up enough for some of the boat docks to be used but they are hoping it will get at least up to them before the tourist season.

Ron,
We just can't seem to win.
I spend a lot of time on Lake Lanier in Georgia. Two years ago we were 12ft below full pool, and Alabama and Florida were about to declare war on us for restricting the Buford Dam. This year we are a foot above full pool and can't give the water away.

Maurice,
The water situation out here has been a contention of greed and power versus who has it for years. Now they have found out that no amount of money can make us give them water that doesn't exist. It is supposed to shower today but it was supposed to have rained yesterday and it was sunny and 69°. We are still in an official drought condition and can't make up 4 years of no rain with even average rain for one Winter. I think our average is around 46 to 50 inches per year and we haven't had more than abut 10 to 15 inches the past 4 years. And even worse is the snow packs in the mountains aren't even close to being as deep as they should. My Shasta and Lassen has a good cover right now but the past few days of warm weather has already started taking a big toll on it. Where there should be 20 to 30 feet there is about 10 to 15 feet.

Snow pack..what's that? 5 to 7 inches of rain a year is good for Havasu, of course we don't have that green stuff growing in many yards here, you know the stuff you got to cut with a machine.
Seriously, the Colorado River is consumed by the big cities and farms in southern Ca. and AZ. Hopefully the snow pack in the rockies will improve the storage this year in all the lakes down stream.
Great pic. and the flowers are appreciated.

Bill,
The yellow ones bloomed yesterday and they really add color to the yards. I have to enjoy it before out 115+ Summer heat gets here as I don't water the yards at all and they have rationed water anyway. Added surcharges, raised the rates to more than most people pay once you go past a minimum usage which means about two laundries a month and nothing more than drinking water and washing dishes. They even made the suggestion last summer that people don't shower but use the tub and save the water for at least two baths. Talk about asinine knee jerk reactions.

Well I saw two Robins at the bird feeder this morning. They were mostly huddling under it to avoid the already 1/4" ice build up on the tree from the freezing rain. Supposed to turn to snow this afternoon with 3-6 inches forecast. This winter is even worse than 1959 I think when we had so much snow. I think I'll order a Rosetta Stone class for Spanish. ![bigcry](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)

From my home I have a great view of the Cascades and usually this time of year all the hill tops would be white. This year nada, we are working in an area that should have several feet of snow right now. There was dust flying up behind the log trucks Friday.

My cousin that lives just over the line in Arkansas has been telling me about the snow and ice and he is tired of it. He said he had spent some time in one of the barns working on some of the cars, but he needs to get started getting everything ready for the hay season and it is just to cold, wet, and icy to even think about doing much. They normally have snow and ice every Winter, but I think this one has been more than usual.
