Shasta Lake Information
This site has about all the information that anyone could want to know about Shasta Lake. Right now the lake is just about 4' from the crest.

Last time I drove past, summer of '08, it looked like it was 4' off the bottom... does this mean the draught is over?

Checking out your photo I can understand why you are exciting about the lake being back to good skinney dipping shape.

John,
The lake was the lowest this summer that it has ever been since they first filled it. Five straight years of drought did that. Then this Winter we got normal rainfall here and a fair snow pack in the mountains. The heavy rains on down South of here let them hold more water than they had to let out and that is why it is close to cresting. They can add another 20' by lowering the drum gates but I don't think it will get that high as our rainy season is over except for a light shower once in a while.
Fred,
So you like my girlfriend do you. Then you should see the other three.

Fred,
Just who do you think took that picture? One of them does remind me of one of my past girlfriends,
