Default Any DC residents here?

The wifey and I are planning to visit around mid September. I've never been so I'm really looking forward to the trip.

I'm kinda of a ghost-hunter fan and I try to hit all the known local "haunted" spots around my area. Is there anything like that in DC that you know of? I've read of the Octagon House and some others that are downtown. Any spook places that give regular tours?

We'll just be in town for about 3 days. We plan to hit Ford's Theater, National Archives, Museum of American History, the Holocaust Museum, and a few other spots. Trying to not bite off more than we can chew.

We'll be staying downtown pretty close to the Smithsonian buildings, so we should be within walking distance to a lot of stuff.

Washington is one of my favorite places to visit. It is beautiful and has so much history and things to do. Since most activities and museums are free you can come and go as you please.

Some things require tickets (free) like the fords theater and Washington monument. I don't think they sell them in advance so you have to try to get them early in the am.

If you want to tour the capital building or white house you need to contact your local congressman in advance.

The air and space museum in the Washington mall is great but if you want more visit the larger one about 30 min away in VA.

Enjoy your visit.
