Ford is suing Ferrari....
...over the trademark name F150.
http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2011/...ing-ferrari-f/
I know I would get these two vehicles confused in a parking lot.

Kind of like back when Ferrari sued GM over the GTO. And they lost.

Didn't Toyota have to quit using "T100" for its full size, or 3/4 size trucks because Ford claimed is sounded too much like F-150 ?

How silly. I doubt they will win. While both are vehicles, there is no possibility that a truck buyer will confuse a Ferrari for a truck. If anything, Ferrari has the image issue with a truck being confused with their vehicle.
There are dozens of 'Cobra' trademarks living in peace with each other . No reason these two can't.

lawyers on retainer have to do something, kinda like the government, if you're not doing anything they'll find something, no matter how stupid!

Wasn't it Peugeot who was on Porsche's case for the "0" in the name?
The 911 as meant to be a 901. (Just get a life, will you?)

Well Ferrari caved and changed the name to F150th Italia.
But did you know Ford had to request Ferrari stop using the name, because a requirement of registering a trademark is that you defend it. Had Ford not done so, then they lose that trademark!

If Ford and Ferrari didn't start fighting way back when,,,,,,,would there have ever been a Cobra, or a Daytona coupe, or a GT-40?
Wasn't Henry vs Enzo the conceptual embryo of the Cobra??

It is my understanding that is the reason Carrol Shelby has not prevailed in his lawsuits over the "Cobra" name. Apparently he allowed replica manufacturers to offer products with that name for too long before he decided to attempt to raise funds for his cardiac related endeavors through the lawsuits.
It was a great case of "You snooze, you lose"!
Cheers from Dugly
