This little screamer made 67 rear wheel horsepower. I placed top three in every regional race I ran it in. It was leading the GNF at Road Atlanta when the cam chain tensioner shoe broke. I still finished fourth!
This was an amazing machine. Pulled real hard, even from low revs. Gotta love that V-Twin sound...
I'll try to find some more.

Yeah, the Ninja 750R was a great machine. Excellent motor, and I could hang with the then-new GSX-Rs in the twisties, and it LOVED to wheelie out of second gear corners. I bought that bike while I was stationed in West Germany, and rode it every chance I got. It was my Happy Divorce present to myself. I even shipped it back to the States!
This is what I ride now:
Dang, I'm old!

This was an awesome machine, too. I rode it several places you would have trouble getting through on foot!

I always like the high winding engines of the japanese bikes, I compare them to a high winding small block, a harley would be more like a big block.

How about a 1953 Indian Chief 80" flathead on a 1937 Indian rigid frame and 37 leaf spring springer front fork. Not the hand shift.
This is my 1948 Harley Panhead.

Don't make me cry!...........I was offered a Indian Chief for free when I was 18 (too many years ago). It was complete but in bits. All I had to do was assemble it. There was also a box with enough parts to 3/4 assemble a second bike. I foolishly declined the offer. 2 years later I asked if it was still available. No, he said it was thrown out into the rubbish tip!

1985 Harley Low Glide. Right after the new Evo engine came out. I lowered the suspension and chromed it all. It rode like a brick after that but it looked GOOD!
1974 Kawasaki Triple. My Harley friends wouldn't ride with me because it was a "rice burner", so I saved up the dough and 11 years later bought the Hog

my first motorcycle, I drove it all over the USA when I was 18. Didn't know it was "too small". 1968 Honda CB-350:
#2 a 1970 Kawasaki 500. I had the chance to get a new Honda 750 or the Kawasaki, also new. Kawasaki was $1000 & the Honda was $1299. I was seduced by the quarter mile ET. I would have been better off with the Honda, but you can't reason with a 19 year old.:
#3 1970 Rickman Triumph. Finally, a bike with all I wanted, or would ever want:

My first one was also a Honda 350. Then a Triumph 1959 650, then the 48 Panhead and then the Indian 80" Flathead.

Mine too....a Honda 350SL, the one with the upswept mufflers on the side, the "trail" version of the 350CB.
Traded it in for a Honda CB500, their small 4-cyllinder road bike. It was great, I still have "Myrtle", in fact. The last time I stepped on the starter crank, the engine still turned over.
I am thinking about selling Myrtle now, thinking about using the money gained to further the upgrades to the 5.0 HO motor in the Cobra.
Cheers from Dugly

If you want to get back to the unique thrills of the HI triple, there's one for sale at
http://throttleyard.com/2010/12/12/b...1-kawasaki-h1/.
Cool new site for old bikes.

One of these was my first motorcycle. It had been hot-rodded with a high compression head, a "competition" rotary valve, and a very loud Bassani expansion chamber exhaust. It would do right at 55MPH at the top of fourth gear.
That was followed rapidly by this light-switch power, 90cc brick. It had a 100-tooth rear sprocket, so it was fairly quick, but it would bog if you let the revs down (no reed valves). The no-name aftermarket expansion chamber exhaust was also exceptionally loud with the silencer removed. Ours (I have 2 brothers) was an HT-1B motocross version and was never fitted with lights or steel fenders. We used Preston Petty replacement fenders whenever it got tossed around too much.

Huh?
I actually OWN three Vincents, including a 1950 Shadow that I've owned since 1980 and ridden for 30,000 miles. Also have owned three more at various times. Did you ever ride one?
The truth is they handle very well (especially for their time); they are about the only classic bike that can be ridden in today's traffic and keep up without self-destructing. This undeserved reputation was the result of beat to crap examples with worn out dampers and fork bushings. That and the fact that Shadows were the fastest production motor vehicle (not just motorcycle) in the world for several years.
Try driving your cobra with worn out dampers and steering and see how safe it is ...

That's it??? I figured there would be a lot more folks on here with pics of their motorcycles. I guess that either there aren't that many guys here that ride, or they don't have pictures.
Bummer.
