They keep calling it a million dollar mansion.
People say a $1,000,000 just isn't what it used to be,I think this "Mansion" shows that.
I guess land or labor is pretty expensive there.:LOL
Maybe it's concrete walls ??

Thanks...I thought it was just me. I've seen fancier digs on the hillsides of Tijuana that cost no more than a million bottle caps.

You'd almost think the bastard would've been happy to meet his maker after living like a rat for six years in that clapped out alcatraz.
I wonder how safe the other "high value" Al Qaeda boys are feeling now that the head honcho is fish food and the relentless crosshairs will surely be shifting their way.

The SOB got off easy...
The SEALS are a pretty tough bunch, When I was at Great Lakes we had about 200 guys try out.
2 qualified. (typically one or nobody qualified)
Out of those, about 5% make it through their "boot camp". Then only about two dozen or so serve on the "elite" teams.
I'm suprised there was actually a firefight, there must have been a considerable amount of security equipment at this compound. Otherwise it would have all been over in thirty seconds.
I'm not sure if it's typicall, but the few that I've met we all very mild mannered people. One guy I knew from high school and was barely tall enough to join the Navy. (not that you hear much about any of them)
Hopefully the intel captured results in the demise of even more of these wackos.
I'm curious why you never hear much about the Green Berets anymore? They were also part of these kill teams. As were some elite Marine teams.

The former Governor of California saw to that - he flat did away with the Green Berets. (Warning: adult language)
YouTube - Commando - I eat Green Berets for Breakfast

The "Green Berets" have a different job than the SeAls. They are usually tasked with going into a area and working with, and training indigenous people to operate as an effective fighting force. They get tasked with other missions as well, but SeAL Team 6 and Delta are the primary counter terrorism units. I would not be surprised if Delta was involved in this raid as well. Task Force 160 (Special Operation Aviation Regiment) is the Army unit that gets these guys in and out of the the places where these operations go down. They should get alot of credit with this operation, but I don't think I have seen them mentioned.

They sure did. I might take a drive down to Coronado this weekend and have a few beers in their honor.

My daughter worked as an intern at the Navy's dolphin research facility (think Day of the Dolphin) next to the sub base on Point Loma while she was at UCSD. She'd run into a few of the guys every now and then...she noted how quiet and mannered they were compared to the rest of the folks.
Just glad they got the basturd...raise a beer to them for me as well.
