Default Chasing down a motorcycle, GoPro video

This sequence if it works, is the neighbor kid blowing by me and 3 other cars on his crotch rocket, I had to wait for oncoming traffic to pass and to be able to see about 300' of road. Had to get it from 55 to 110 quick for an upcoming turn. For the hard core gearheads, all that passing was done in 4th gear (1:00 to 1:00) same as doing the pass in top gear of the old Muncie. I pulled 3rd to cut down on the amount of time spent in the opposing lane over the double yellow line, but upshifted to 4th at 3500 rpms. The low rpm torque has made me lazy about pulling gears or running much above 3500. 3500 in 5th is 142.5.

So my act of stupidity (you ought to see the heat I'm taking for the passing vid on the HAMB), had a positive outcome, as my neighbor's son has promised to drive 20 mph on the residential, rural street we live on, in return his Dad never sees the video. Unless he shows an interest in Cobras and shows up here.

I think I already like the Cobra folks. That vid was posted on the T, and hot rod forums did nothing but cause all kinds of indignation. The two Cobra forums I posted to, nothing but a good sense of humor or questions about the GoPro. I guess it makes a big difference when you share spirited driving with folks that own and understand good handleing cars like you Snake guys and gals. I know it wasn't a smart move, but I did give the cars that I would have a large speed differiental with, at least a 10' berth by getting into the far apron.

Bob,

You did such a good job on that Video that now you are going to have to make some more. Maybe one with a controlled spin out like Darren did,

Any chance of seeing Darren's vid? An update on my vid over at the HAMB, the more I interfaced with those good folks, the more the posts dropped the negative vibe and started swinging positive, that is till they closed the thread.

Darren's vid is on his site. I will look to see which Forum he put it in, but he was driving his Kirkham.

This I posted on my forum, but if you good folks are interested, I'll keep you all in the loop.......

Getting the hang of the GoPro. Upon listening to the sound track, I could hear what a rattle trap my T is, because now I could hear it, as there is noise reduction for the frequencies of wind in the camera. I couldn't hear it driving because my ears don't attenuate the wind. Turned out to be some loose fastners in the rear lid. Then on a drive I taped little streamers all over the bucket area to find a "wind lull" somewhere in the interior area to mount the camera. I think I found the best spot for the camera.

"Their gonna put me in the movies"
"Their gonna make a big star out of me"
.............
"And all I have to do is act naturally"

I sure wish the computer geeks on their forum would help me out, but they all insist I should build the computer that I need to edit these vids. During the converting and editing process, my RAM is crammed, and my CPU just sits at 100%. A rough cut vid clip takes 30 minutes to produce a 1 minute clip figuring download times to YouTube and the editing.

On a bit of a sour note, admitting the 1st vid I posted showed "spirited" driving, the members of a couple of forums got rather pissed off, and closed the thread. So from this point on, my vids will only appear here and on the Cobra forums. Those guys are so accustomed to cars that handle way above par, 100% of them understood that even though the pass was illegal and included triple digit speeds, they all do the same, not harm, no foul.

Looks like I already forgot how to get the player to show. Anyone want to school me again?

No, he passed two more cars too close to our upcoming left turn. I caught up to him as he was off the bike entering the key code to his gate. He has always ridden that bike way too fast on the neighborhood street, but since the video was taken, he is now nice and easy in the neighborhood as he doesn't want his Dad to see the video, so we have a deal.

BTW, I pulled the trigger on a new computer purchase. Tell me if I did good, as you seem to know about them. I had to spec it because I couldn't find what I wanted in a finished unit. Remember this is for video editing, I'm not a gamer and never will be.

Intel i5-2500K 3.30 GHz 6M liquid cooling
8GB DDR3 1333 MHz dual channel memory
700 watt PS
Nvidia GeForce GT 520 w/ 1GB
Biostar H61MH Intel HDMI Motherboard
HDD 1TB SATA II 3.0Gb/second
Wireless IEEE 802
12 in 1 flash media reader/writer
24X double layer dual format DVD R/RW

I dig the video but I think you can afford to shift a bit above 3500 (ya gotta clean the pipes out)

make sure your new computer has USB 3.0 for faster data swap.

The specs on the engine, if you promise not to laugh
320 hp @ 4050
516 lb/ft @ 2800

The last dyno I was on, the tech asked me if the motor was for a rock crawler, as he had never seen such odd numbers in a street ride. That is why I don't bother to go above 3500, but for max scoot I'll shift at 4500. Now you guys can chuckle. I wanted USB3 but I only transfer once from the camera to HD, and can do other things while DLing. Then when I'm done, transfer to a portable USB powered HD and leave the room.
